breeze 0 Posted July 19, 2010 Map_EU Requires CAsigns2 I get this error every time I log into Arrowhead if I go into Combat ops I don't get it? Anyone know what or Why?
Deadfast 43 Posted July 19, 2010 It's only for ARMA 2.
breeze 0 Posted July 19, 2010 So why do I get the error? Isn't the EU utility just opens stuff already in editor? If its already in there why does OA give me the error?
W0lle 1052 Posted July 19, 2010 Because not every object from ArmA2 (in your case signs) is also available in OA.
breeze 0 Posted July 19, 2010 This is where alot of people get annoyed but I want to understand it You are saying that when i start Arrowhead that it has signs in its folder its pbo whatever it has it but doesn't need it Correct? What I see as an error is MAP-EU Requires addon Casigns when I start arrowhead leading me to think I dont have it. So you know i mean if what your saying is right then it shouldnt matter to me at all except I should get rid of the CAsigns then so I dont use it on accident?? I did a search for it on my computer I cant find it
galzohar 31 Posted July 19, 2010 If you have combined operations, try run that and it'll probably work. As far as I know, MAP_EU opens up Arma 2 (NOT Arrowhead) objects to be used in the editor. If you don't have Arma 2, then obviously it won't find the objects. Side note: We really need an OA version.
breeze 0 Posted July 20, 2010 I use combined ops most so what your saying is that when I use it Im not really using arrow head Arma 2 just uses the pieces from arrowhead? If that's so then does one run way better then the other in terms of performance?
[frl]myke 14 Posted July 20, 2010 @Breeze It is confusing at first but at the end it is pretty simple. There is: ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead Combined Operations ArmA 2 is just ArmA 2, aswell as Operation Arrowhead is just Operation Arrowhead. Combined Operations is ArmA 2 and Operation Arrowhead together. So addons that require ArmA 2 will run with ArmA 2 (obviously) and Combined Operations but probably not with Operation Arrowhead alone. Simply because the required content isn't there.
breeze 0 Posted July 20, 2010 Well I bought it all as one game i had previously had arma 2 and arma but yeah I looked at it to say that you should be able to run all content in the combined ops package that is its presentation when you buy it that way that you can do it all if you buy this one an it is confusing it seems like it runs on 2 diff engines now that I learn more So addons made with arma 2 run on arma 2 exe and new stuff on arrowhead exe
orcinus 121 Posted July 30, 2011 (edited) Well I bought it all as one game i had previously had arma 2 and arma but yeah I looked at it to say that you should be able to run all content in the combined ops package that is its presentation when you buy it that way that you can do it all if you buy this one an it is confusing it seems like it runs on 2 diff engines now that I learn more So addons made with arma 2 run on arma 2 exe and new stuff on arrowhead exe Confusing is the word I would use for your unpunctuated post :D Map_EU works fine in Combined Ops [CO] just as it does in Arma 2, & missions created with in Arma 2 with MAP_EU work perfectly in CO. Many (but not all) other mods made for Arma 2 also work perfectly in CO, by the way. Sounds like you may have 2 separate installations. I have DVD versions of both; installing OA on a previous Arma 2 installation worked fine, the OA installer found my Arma 2 folder & put arma2oa.exe, etc., into that folder as well as updating some of the Arma 2 pbo's to be compatible. First thing to check is whether you have the OA executables in your main Arma 2 directory. If you have two separate folders, it may be easiest to uninstall OA then reinstall making sure that it goes into your Arma 2 folder. The trouble shooting forum may have other solutions (best to search with Google using "Arrowhead OR OA" as one of your search terms [without the quotes!] as the forum search engine rejects terms of less than 3 letters. Steam is different; & if you're using Steam, you'll find posts in the trouble shooting section that address failures to get CO when installing OA on a previous Arma 2 installation. MAP_EU is an excellent addon; also it's essential for Siliola's DAC 3 & missions made using that. Orcinus Edit: I just found this thread http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=109362 about updates of MAP_EU to include OA objects. Currently at beta 2 stage, you might want to try that. Excellent modders like Robalo working on it so don't let beta status put you off giving it a try - I'm downloading now. [sheesh, so many mods & addons to upgrade / try now I have CO, so little time...] Edited July 30, 2011 by Orcinus Found additional information
