USSoldier11B 0 Posted April 26, 2002 Hey Aculaud. I'm currently testing and advising on a sniper mission made by another forum member. It's pretty good stuff. I told him to tone down the enemy AI because they were too smart considering that there are a shit load of them. Let me know if you want to take a look at it. LauryThorn 0 Posted April 26, 2002 I started your mission, seemed really nice.. This is just an idea, but.. why won't you "give name" to the player controlled unit and the other team member(s). You know, like in the description.ext: class CfgIdentities { class James { name = "James" . . }; }; and then in init.sqs player setIdentity "James" IMO it's nice when your player has name.. Aculaud 0 Posted April 27, 2002 eh, i just decided not to, cause i thought it would be nicer if the player feels like hes the actual player.
-AL- 1 Posted April 28, 2002 Great mission, Nice work mate. The only real problem is the ending.... there is none. I've killed the target guy, called in the artillery, cleared 1 camp & taken out 3/4 of the other, tried both resistance bases but..... nothing, no ending. Other than that, pretty sweet. IceFire 0 Posted April 28, 2002 Hey Aculaud, I want to play your mission. What do I need to do, are there any things I need to download first? Right now I am updated to version 1.46, or is it 1.47?? Whatever. That is what I have. I do not have any unofficial addons as I do not like downloading unofficial things for fear that they may ruin my game. But if anyone could tell me what steps I need to take to play this mission, it would be great! Thanks.
Aculaud 0 Posted April 28, 2002 I just tried that camps, and youre right, they dont work. Apperantly, you cant have two of the same ending triggers. One cancels the other out. Oh well, youre not missing much, unless you want your stats. All i had was a short outro showing a resistance tank force demoliting a Russian base. If anyone wants, i could fix it so it does work, and re-release it. Icefire, All you need is all the official updates for the version of the mission on normal kolgujev. The version on winter kolgujev requires kegetys winter kolgujev version 1.2, and all official updates.
IceFire 0 Posted April 28, 2002 Ok, cool. Where can I get the non winter version?? And how do I download and what are the steps required to play it? Also, if you rerelease it, will I need to delete it and then redownload it, or can I just download it and it will automatically replace the flawed version? Benze 0 Posted April 28, 2002 1st try: Land, wait for rangers. Shoot officer in head. They shoot me. 2nd try: Land. Run to meeting point, sleep. Car comes up, I run in front of it to try to get ran over. This starts the conversation sequence. He then get's out and runs a bit and says "Hey, over here!" This startles me very much, so I decide to shoot him. His buddy is not cool, and he shoots me. I cry in my room. A couple hours later, I try a 3rd time. I sleep. I come up, and he says, "Hey! Over here!" I was prepared and was not frightened into shooting him. His buddy turns and gives me the "eye." And you know you don't look at me weird, so I shoot him. The guy shoots me too. 4th time: Car drives up. We talk a while. He runs back to the car. I think he was kind of snotty with me and I don't like his attitude, so I shoot his tires out. They get out of the car. Then, what the heck are they doing? They are running to their point. Hell no. I line them both up and get headshots. My spotter shoots me. 5th time: Hah. I got them now. I shoot my spotter in the back when he's not looking. I wait behind the building for the car. Ambush! I shoot it's tire out and blast them away with a hail of 7.62 fire. I run around like crazy and eventually kill myself by shooting at my feet. 6th: Kill my spotter. Now I take both of the evil people out while they are in the car. I jack their car and take it for a spin. I went up north, and nothing was there. It was a barren wasteland. There was nothing in any of the bases. Why take the north half of an island if you are not going to protect it? My former 2nd grade class could land on it and claim it for their own. In my heavy thoughts, I wasn't paying attention to the road and crashed into a tree and died. Poo.

IceFire 0 Posted April 28, 2002 ACK!! I swear, I feel like I am an old man when I get on computer. Even though I am only 20. I don't even know anything about what bites and megabits and superbites are and stuff. I just know how to kind of use programs after someone tells me what buttons to push and stuff like that. Honestly, it was only like 2 weeks ago that I got the courage up to venture into the mission editor. Didn't know if I was going to screw something up that I needed to run the game or something. Lol! Please tell me how to run your game!!! Just tell me what buttons to press and where to put stuff, and what to type and stuff.
IceFire 0 Posted April 28, 2002 Bump. Help anyone? I still can't figure out how to run the downloaded mission.
Aculaud 0 Posted April 28, 2002 Alright man, if you know nothing about computers, than youve got about three options in front of you: A - Dont use computers. Easy enough B - Take a class on them. The cheaters way out. C - Just do like the rest of us and just spend a good amount of time messin around on them. Thats how all of us learned the things we know. We just took a good amount of time and experimented, and sooner or later, we figured stuff out. What does this key do? what does that key do? How many other ways are there to preform this task? And which is the most efficient? If you dont have the time to do this like we did (which i do believe is the best way), then options A or B might serve you better. IceFire 0 Posted April 28, 2002 Thanks alot Aculaud!! Â With your advise, I can now play any downloaded mission I want!!
IceFire 0 Posted April 28, 2002 Err, just to let all know. That was sarcasm.
Aculaud 0 Posted April 29, 2002 and i countered it with the truth. What you fail to realize is that my advice will get you exactly what you wanted
-AL- 1 Posted April 29, 2002 Icefire, extract Terror tactics.cain.pbo to your desktop. Open the folder, open the next folder, copy terror tactics.cain & paste it to your missions folder (probably c;\programfiles\codemasters\ofp\missions). Run single player & you should see it.
