pointers for mission making?

hello all!..now im sure this dont happen often but.....i need some pointers as far as making missions....such as what are people looking for in a mission and need some pointers to do so........i find all my missions have no replay ability and bore even myself....i know a ton of scripts so it shouldent be a problem making the maps..just how to approach it is my problem....i need help lol :rolleyes:

I'd suggest playing different missions and see what you enjoy from those and try to do something similar in your own missions. Remember, scripts don't make a mission good, the content does. Often times a really simple mission can be more exciting then a super scripted one.

The Mission Depot over on OFPEC rates the missions, so you can easily see which ones are more popular. Might start there.

yea sorry about that......what i seem to like about missions is replay ability, not knowing where the enemy is ganna be everytime, i like a tiny little bit of freedom and lots of witty scripts but i just dont have a good foundation for my missions. Can some one give me a shell of a mission i could possably build off of?

Overall the mission should be "doable with 50% MP attendance" and "easy with 100% MP attendance." Mission makers often make the mistake of assuming that 100% of the slots will be filled and making a mission geared for that level.

Random placement of units might help. For example, if you have to go in and rescue some hostages, have them randomly be placed in one of 5 locations for example. Things like that can change it up a little.

I use Dac it makes the mission pretty random. :D Its the best thing sinse they invented Icecream. :D

I think playability comes with randomness. you can make 3 times the amount of enemies, with 30% probability, and you wont know where they are.

Just one idea.

never mind that post.....but i am curantly working on a mission that you have to get from point A to point B...random patrols and enemy held towns along the way.....im thinking about putting it on ArmAholic.com under operation arrowhead.....this mission is dark (5:30) and has very creepy music so that should be a plus :yay::yay::yay: any suggestions? im all ears ;)
