Fiddler of Stx 10 Posted June 26, 2010 I did a forum search and didn't find anything so here it goes. I own Arma 2 on Steam but I would like to buy OA through sprocket. Will that cause a problem with integrating the two of them? My eventual goal is to have OA on a seperate SSD but I would like to not have to all my steam content on the SSD as well. I'm just trying to figure out how this will work and if it all needs to be installed into the same folder. Thank you, Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
cannonouscrash 12 Posted June 26, 2010 I understand that its a daunting task to search through all the pages on the forum, but if you searched properly you would of found your answer. OA is a standalone game, although dubbed as an expansion to A2. With this it 'should' be possible to install the OA on a different HDD. As you are planning to stick OA on an SSD, i would highly recommend that you re-install A2 onto the same SSD for increased performance. Do they both need to be in the same folder tree similar to the way mods currently work or is it a separate folder path you can add? I don't want to have all my steam content on the SSD which would be necessary if I were to have A2 on it. If I had to I could just buy A2 again but that would be a last resort. Fiddler of Stx 10 Posted June 26, 2010 because I have alot of games through steam but I don't want or need all of them on an SSD drive because they really don't need it, just Arma and DCS which benefit from the faster terrain loading times. Oh wait, its on Steam right now! Yes, I was gonna bitch about it not coming out on Steam in time, but il save those complaints for something else I reckon. AlecDelorean 10 Posted June 27, 2010 (edited) i made some experiments, wanted to make something like Arma2:AllInOne and it seems to work. i installed OA standalone and integrated the content of Arma2 1.07 as a mod (without UI, uifont and editor). made few tests, EW campaign and single missions, seems to work, nice. i'm waiting for arma2:OA 1.07 now, want these nice multithreading performance boosts...
