Big Dawg KS 6 Posted June 15, 2010 Will BI use these other countries as battle spaces? I would like to heir your thoughs and BI on these question. It's a good possibility. MasterChief096 10 Posted June 15, 2010 Where did you hear of Ardistan and Karzeghistan?
maturin 12 Posted June 15, 2010 Chernarus is nothing like Georgia.
Beagle 684 Posted June 15, 2010 Where did you hear of Ardistan and Karzeghistan?Chernarus is a depiction of a part of czech republic called "Bohemia" or Böhmen in german. The most northern part of the detailed map is in reality already a part of Germany.
Laqueesha 474 Posted June 15, 2010 I always thought that Chernarus was Georgia and that Takistan was Azerbaijan.
Beagle 684 Posted June 16, 2010 I always thought that Chernarus was Georgia and that Takistan was Azerbaijan. The "Chernarus"-Georgia analogy is only in the story of the campaign...not in landscape. For "Takistan" they took a piece of Afghanistan if I understood it right from all the development and promo videos. soldier2390 0 Posted June 16, 2010 so i know this may sound dumb, and probly already answered but "Takistan" uses actual Afghanistan sat\terrian? what im asking is..is the "Takistan" map..not just based on, but is a real place in A-Stan? or is more of a replica of areas in A-Stan? like all the towns(obviously not the same names) real..with the same road net works(with acturate town sizes..Mountians, even lakes)? if so does anyone know the real location "Takistan" uses? would be much better knowing im actually playing in Afghanistan..and not just a map that "Looks" like A-Stan terrian! jeza 5416 Posted June 16, 2010 Maybe in the current climate it could also pass for kyrgyzstan...
That guy 10 Posted June 16, 2010 the campaign setting is not a direct mirror of any one country or event/time period. BIS go off real world trends, stresses, issues and such as a base, but the end product is its own unique scenario. BIS has said in interviews that the terrain and populace of takistan were based on Afghanistan, but the political climate is similar to a desert storm era Iraq (but communist). so a little north korea mixed in as well. I am sure we can draw more similarities to other conflicts around the world as well
