SSD for Arma 2

Recommended Posts

BTW: Bangtail, if your 'BLACK' outruns my ssd, i'll post a vid of me eating my shoe.

You should A: Read my posts properly and B: Read the forum rules regarding flame baiting.

I have never said that WD Blacks 'outrun' SSDs (although Hardware Canucks RW tests show that they quite clearly do in certain areas but that's beside the point), That was never the the nature of the dispute.

Next time you feel inclined to try and restart a dead argument for no good reason - don't.

Cheers

PS : SSD's have nothing to do with FPS JFYI.

PPS : WEI is not an accurate measurement of performance for any component.

Well played BangTail. It's like people are playing telephone with your SSD comment:p

I aquired another WD caviar 1TB. Moved all arma files as well as steam. I have only tested arma and the stuttering has been halved. Still anoying though. FPS, no change. Didn't expect one. I will test Just Cause 2 soon since I had some decent stutter when flying fast and low.

Above you see a hwinfo32 systemdump.

Why on Earth are you running your processor at such a horribly slow speed? Or is the the Intel speed step down? If you have a good heatsink/fan you can crank that chi up to 3.5 GHz with almost no tweaking, and 4.0 with added voltage.
