twisted 128 Posted April 4, 2010 i've been playing ofp thn arma then arma2. and one fundamental thing that always feels really less than userfriendly is how a player is forced to cycle through all fire modes and grenades with a single key. would be much more useful to have one key for rifle based fire modes (and have the choice remembered as rifles do should not magically reset themselves once you've used your grenades) and one key for grenades and smoke grenades. press, hmmm - 'g' for example? select g and choose the nade you want to throw. please bis consider this simple but really quite userfreindly change. arma2 is in a class of its own but some parts really could do with an update. Darkhorse 1-6 16 Posted April 4, 2010 G wouldn't really work as it is currently the gear menu. Possibly a number key setup?
Flash Thunder 10 Posted April 4, 2010 I agree this should be incorporated into OA.
11aTony 0 Posted April 4, 2010 Yes please BIS, do this. One key just for fire modes and another key for everything else (satchel, grenades...).
NeMeSiS 11 Posted April 4, 2010 G wouldn't really work as it is currently the gear menu. Possibly a number key setup? Numbers are used for the command menu already. May F - Grenade and Ctrl+F - Firing mode. Though this would probably give dozens thousands of FF accidents in MP after its first introduction. :p
ladlon 10 Posted April 4, 2010 I agree that some separate 'throw item' key command would be great.
galzohar 31 Posted April 4, 2010 Who cares what key it is, as long as we can bind something to it...
katipo66 94 Posted April 4, 2010 And a toggle option for stand and crouch would be nice.

11aTony 0 Posted April 4, 2010 And a toggle option for stand and crouch would be nice. What do you mean? That is available already. You have keys for standing up, crouch and prone. Or you can bind one key to go up and another to go down. They are all toggle. Would you like to not having it?
galzohar 31 Posted April 4, 2010 Right now we need 3 keys. Would be nice if we only needed 2 - crouch and prone - and if you hit the prone key while prone or the crouch key while crouched you would stand back up.
Flash Thunder 10 Posted April 4, 2010 And a toggle option for stand and crouch would be nice. ummm thats already in, I made X crouch toggle and 2x Stand up
galzohar 31 Posted April 4, 2010 That's not toggle though ;)
katipo66 94 Posted April 4, 2010 ummm thats already in, I made X crouch toggle and 2x Stand up damn, i didnt realize you could do that, cool. But i would still prefer one click toggle option, at least for the crouch/stand... i would like to assign that to one of my thumb buttons on my mouse as that is probably one of my most used actions besides free look
Flash Thunder 10 Posted April 4, 2010 damn, i didnt realize you could do that, cool. But i would still prefer one click toggle option, at least for the crouch/stand... i would like to assign that to one of my thumb buttons on my mouse as that is probably one of my most used actions besides free look hmm. well I assigned freelook to the 3rd action button on my cruddy mouse which works out well instead of using ALT since that can lead to accidental terminations ALT+F4 My setup works very well in the haste of the gameplay, using seperate buttons to do all 3 actions is a waste IMO. z does go prone, x does crouch 2 x's stands up that way I can use "c" to do a different action forgot exactly what it does. Hope this helps.
