Anyone tried this? Allows 32 bit to access extra RAM

Recommended Posts

I found this utility on another site that apparently allows a 32 bit program to access memory above and beyond the 2G limit.

Not being very tech savvy , and as it seems to modify the .exe file by adjusting a flag inside , I'm a little hesitant to try it myself in case it screws up the game.

Apparently it works just fine with IL2 1946 and it's SecureRom so it should be safe..just not sure.

Was wondering if a more technically inclined or knowledgeable person had heard of it , tried it and did it work?

Can read about it here..

Won't do much, arma2 doesn't use more then 1.2 GB in the current version.

If you modify the .exe it might trigger FADE. It also may not let you play online on a BattleEye server.

That's what I was thinking. I'll give it a pass.

Let me correct this:

If you modify the .exe it will trigger FADE.

It makes a backup of your .exe file.

I went ahead and gave it a shot knowing full well that I would have to re-download the game through Steam if it activated FADE. So far it has NOT. With that being said, I cannot tell any difference in performance. I ran the in-game benchmark program, and the patch only improved the benchmark by 2 FPS.

So, it looks like a dud from my point of view.

:o:o:rolleyes:
