Is it difficult to realize multi-channel working?

Is there gonna be any way to turn off the terrain obstruction? It sounds like it could be a real pain for communication, then again I have no idea how radio communication works IRL.

Yes. Everyone being in the same channel is analogues to everyone existing in the same plane of existence physically. Having people in multiple channels makes it harder to track people and know where messages go. Direct speaking will not work across multiple channels, as in real life you can not talk to people in other dimensions (unless you can, then PM me).

Maybe, maybe not, there has to be some sort of fall off. In real life radio signals are yes, affected by the terrain, the weather, the status of the sun, the time of day, alignment of planets, and yes the radios being used. If you want just VOIP then our addon is probably overkill...

Yes. It works fine. Has been thoroughly tested. :)

This is correct. Hopefully we will have something really rough by this weekend but no promises.

At that point we will probably start our own thread. :)

in this weekend ? woow nice to hear that , hum only one thing , you add battery for radio ? because if you add batery we need to add the addon to the server ?

Yes this will need to be a server addon as well. That is the most efficient way we think of handling tracking radio devices (and batteries in radios, etc).

Can I ask now then if it supports similar features for the purpose of connecting clients to a specific server and channel? I have enabled this for the current version and it works very well (a God-send for public servers), I'd be :( to lose it.

Excellent, Excellent! One of the most interesting addons i've looked forward to since a veeeeeryyyyy long time - especially because of the massive realism features and the most likely high quality.

However i hope the documentation will be good even for the people just like me, who never used a real military Radio :p

and for the pbo , is it possible to have a possible integration in ace ? because lot of server play with that but lot of player don't play with TS3 and other thing (or an integration of the batterie and other thing)

I think they're right not to integrate further with ACE, current ACE distribution mechanisms will not ensure the TS3 plug-in is also installed anyway. Keeping it mod-agnostic is the best way to have it adopted by more mods/servers which will result in the greatest convenience for all (not having to switch mods and plug-ins when changing servers). Hopefully Project Reality might use it also but even if they don't PR server-ops could still choose to.

PR has their own project I believe.

In terms of integrating with ACE, there will be a lot of functionality close to it. Things like AN/PRC-119 rucks and other manpacked radios are already included in ACE2. We'd like to try and not duplicate functionality or models or anything like that so really playing with ACE2 will give the best experience. :)

It is mainly people from ACE2 working on this though, so if we need to borrow stuff I don't see it being an issue at all.

Sure but there are mods like 31st Normandy which may never run well with ACE though would still benefit mightily from A2T so hopefully you've structured things such that device properties can be specified or added to by the mission.

Yea. Radios have to be radios from the addon though and have our properties and stuff... basically like to work with ACE mods have to have certain features in their configs... we have the same requirements.

They have to have A2TS3 compat radio devices. :)

I've read in the past that there were problems when this addon was used with over 20 people. Will this still be a problem in the next version?

It will use less bandwidth and no more clipboard flooding.

From my testings i can speak for the 006 version and when over 20pple the load on the clipboard apllication is massive and to mouch but in the next version it should be better..

This is not our addon and plugin.

This time you will have something made by real addon makers. :p
