Schancky 10 Posted March 8, 2010 Nice work arb!! Any chance of making the zig zag in the walls a bit more rounded?
Pathy 0 Posted March 8, 2010 They look nice from the side, but I think they could do with being a little thicker. I'm no expert, but I think afghan compound walls are usually pretty damn thick.

I agree, if you take a look at this picture, it should be a bit thicker, might just be an odd one out, but from what i've seen there all pretty much like it. Daniel 0 Posted March 9, 2010 Definite yes to making the walls much thicker (i'm guessing they're only mud brick) and doing away with the zig-zag. The side on shot with the WMIK looks promising!

ezy1 10 Posted March 9, 2010 Now heres an idea. Bear in mind I know nothing of making islands etc. Could irrigation ditches not be made in a similar process to the walls?. 2 knee high walls running parrallel approx 2-3 metres apart.
arb 11 Posted March 9, 2010 don't laugh, still very much WIP, just thrown this together in 10mins. but you get the idea of the types of things this map will have... like... http://www.palacebarracksmemorialgarden.org/HQUKTF_5.gif

topas 1 Posted March 9, 2010 With proper texturing and crisp normals this shall be very close to the orriginal shown. Have visited the topic for quite some time now but did not say "good work! eagerly awaiting this one!" yet ;) Keep up this innovative and highly anticipated project! arb 11 Posted March 9, 2010 i'll have a play. something like this would do with a bit more work, reduce the banking a bit and better texturing and it could work.

Razinski 10 Posted March 9, 2010 (edited) Yeah putting some ditches or small rivers at the side of the tree-lines would improve the look. Edited March 9, 2010 by Razinski
topas 1 Posted March 9, 2010 (edited) Good first approach on those! Maybe make them less trench-like, like more V shaped? Anyway; lookin' good Edited March 9, 2010 by topas
