HydroPump 10 Posted January 8, 2010 After a grand total of 6 hours on the mission "Manhattan" I am giving up and am never going back. Up until that mission everything was going 'reasonably' ok. The bugs weren't too much of a hinderance. To keep this post short I will simply list the problems i had. My mortar support disapeerd from the support menu, I never got to use it My UAV was destroyed even though I never flew it I called in a heli extraction but the heli simply hovered over a nearby town and wouldnt land even though i changed the lz location 5 times to a clearing The female i had to arrest has vanished, i can find her car but not her When i found the insurgent leader and dealt with him I got a series of 3 different radio conversations all more or less stating the same thing but slightly different (I assume they are different responses on the radio depending how I approached attacking the leader) and after the messages ended it stated that my task had not been accomplished And finally after 6 or so hours of restarting and saving every ten or so mins I managed to complete the mission. 100% all evidence all tasks complete! But when It started to load up the next mission...........THE GAME CRASHED! and now not only do I have to restart the mission completely, I have to do the 'Razor Two' mission also! I loved Operation Flashpoint so much. I clocked up hours playing that. Its one of the reasons I ended up joining the Army!!!! So it hurts me so much when i see such a good game destroyed by so many stupid bugs.
Master gamawa 0 Posted January 8, 2010 Υeah I've heard about those bugs. Bummer man. but still.. you can use the skip mission cheat in the console and play the rest of the game you know.. If you like playing warfare mode that is. I played the game again a few weeks ago and I had no bugs whatsoever. I had a problem with the Fire and Smoke addon which killed me during a cinematic in Bitter Chill but nothing more. I finished manhattan and dropped it because warfare mode kicks in soon after and I CAN'T STAND THE FUCKING MICROMANAGEMENT SHITFEST that it is. I wish there was a choice to either play as a leader or as a grunt following orders because I wanted to remove my eyes with a wooden spoon as soon as the message "you got 20 bucks for killing a sniper" appeared on my screen! Alex72 1 Posted January 8, 2010 (edited) So it hurts me so much when i see such a good game CAMPAIGN destroyed by so many stupid bugs. Yeah the campaign needs more attention. Hoping the OA campaign will be more tested before release. Edited January 8, 2010 by Alex72
Zipper5 74 Posted January 8, 2010 I've had in my mind the idea to show myself playing through Manhattan successfully for a while now. I had actually started doing so a while ago. It was going completely fine until Rodriguez took a hit and I had to load a save game, upon which it crashed. I have completed Manhattan successfully many times in the past, so it's not ridiculously hard even with the annoying bugs. It gets really frustrating when the infamous corrupted save game bug appears, though. However, I'd recommend looking more towards the community stuff. You'll enjoy it more than you will with the campaign if you're annoyed by those bugs. They're really only seen in the larger of the official campaign missions, unfortunately. HydroPump 10 Posted January 8, 2010 Its nice to see that people understand where im coming from. I dont find the game hard, i think that after a few patches the ai are much more fair depending on your difficulty. Its just the bugs they destroy the game. Simple things like mounting a helicopter are a chore for me, Razor 4 runs into the tail rotor everytime i order them to mount up, then i have to revive him. So for me to get team razor onto a heli i have to teamswitch and do it individually!
jw custom 56 Posted January 8, 2010 So it hurts me so much when i see such a good game destroyed by so many stupid bugs. Destroyed  Maybe there's more to ArmA 2 than the campaign, like the editor, community made missions and MP  ArmA 2 is the game with most bugs i've ever owned yet it's the best game i've ever owned. No game has given me so many hours of entertainment as ArmA 2 has and still do ;)

Gunter Severloh 4070 Posted January 8, 2010 Maybe there's more to ArmA 2 than the campaign, like the editor, community made missions and MP dam straight, why be limited to what the game comes with? make your own or find some, as big as Arma 2 is growing missions are comign out left and right as well as new tweaks, mods, addons, scripts, its why this community flurishes. JSj 12 Posted January 8, 2010 It's strange how differently you can be affected by bugs. I've played everything up to Manhattan, and have only encountered a few problems. I have jumped in and out of helicopters hundreds of times with my AI-team, and no one has ever been hurt by the tail rotor. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones when it comes to the campaign and bugs. HydroPump 10 Posted January 8, 2010 Dont get me wrong guys the community is ace. And the game was never really designed to be a videogame anyway its designed to be a mil-sim. Id just like to be able to play the campaign. The whole way through. Without Cheats. :( Just once

Without Cheats. :( Just once Well, I managed to do it, 5 times now, but I can't tell you what you're doing wrong. The next few missions from Manhattan on aren't really anything special and you won't be missing much of the story if you skip them. They're Warfare too... *shudders* Play Eagle Wing instead of Harvest Red. There you'll get a bug free and highly enjoyable campaign, on par with OFP's, despite it's short length. It's much better. jw custom 56 Posted January 8, 2010 Id just like to be able to play the campaign. The whole way through. Without Cheats. :( Just once Fair enough and understandable, the campaign should be playable but for some people it ain't and thats a shame. You are one those it doesn't work for so you'll have to look at some of the other aspects ArmA 2 offers, atleast until campaign gets fixed if it ever does :)
Takko 10 Posted January 8, 2010 I still say that I have played Harvest Red without any cheats since version 1.00 without any problems (until some Guerillia mission, but after Patch 1.01 that was fixed) and enjoyed it, with the knowing, that I am not the only one. The campaign is great. Just for some individuals its not working which is a real pitty because they are missing something bigtime.
