  1. Nice weapon pack! Works perfectly with Arrowhead missions. Finally a night fighting AK!!
  2. @ Uncle Imshi Normally I am a quiet observer on this forum but I feel I should put the record straight on the issue of clothing and equipment of the MODERN Irish Defence Forces @ Uncle Imshi The move was pursued last year with the intention of updating the IDF to modern standards in terms of section level equipment. On the report it was not only the A2 that was mentioned as a candidate for updating but also the A3. However this will not be implemented for the foreseeable future as we must await on the decision of NATO as to whether or not adopt a new intermediate cartridge, revert to 7.62 or keep 5.56. But it is the INTENTION that this mod crew are working on. While we will not use A2's soon, or maybe even ever. The INTENTION is there that should NATO decide to keep 5.56 for the next 10 or so years, the IDF would be upgraded to A2's or maybe A3's depending on costs. @ Uncle Imshi Buying???? We already have ELCAN scopes, a lot of them. When we take part in CISM shooting competitions we give them to the team. So naturally if we updated to A2's all these unused scopes sitting in stores would be the first choice to put on the A2 and give it to a qualified marksman. @ Uncle Imshi They look very well for a WIP if you ask me. The camo pattern is almost perfect. The body armour is very similar. Apart from the rim on the helmet its the same issue helmet, as we use the RBH-303IE and the regular troops on arma 2 use the RBH-303 classic (Its the same series of helmet!) There is no IPLCS vest model made for the mod yet so the texture artist had to use the force recon assault vest models and reskin them to irish dpm over the Body Armour. Apart from the helmet and assault vest (which are not yet made), these are good representatives of the modern IDF, maybe if you look at it again, closer and without a chip on your shoulder you would think twice about that comment you made. Because Im glad to say it, that this mod is coming along very well. @ The_blink That is not entirely correct Blinky, there are some pics of the new gear on it. Most of the pics however are just out of date pics of the permanent soldiers with the old gear on them that was passed down to the reservists. Easy mistake to make. And finally I would like to pick a massive hole in one of your statements which makes me seriously doubt the credibility of everything you have said so far.... @ Uncle Imshi I am Combat Service Support. I have the new load carrying and PPE (PPE is the incorrect term, the correct term is CPE (Combat Protective Equipment)) and so does ALL my colleagues in all the different logistics units. Every soldier has been issued it since the DFR's (Defence Forces Regulations) stated that you are no longer fit for duty if you dont have the new IPLCS equipment. Even the fat armourer that sits in his car all day watching sandbags do range practices has it. So unless you have an educated or constructive opinion, keep them to yourself. Keep up the good work IDF Mod team, we're behind you all the way!!!

    I give up

Dont get me wrong guys the community is ace. And the game was never really designed to be a videogame anyway its designed to be a mil-sim. Id just like to be able to play the campaign. The whole way through. Without Cheats. :( Just once

    I give up

Its nice to see that people understand where im coming from. I dont find the game hard, i think that after a few patches the ai are much more fair depending on your difficulty. Its just the bugs they destroy the game. Simple things like mounting a helicopter are a chore for me, Razor 4 runs into the tail rotor everytime i order them to mount up, then i have to revive him. So for me to get team razor onto a heli i have to teamswitch and do it individually!

    I give up

After a grand total of 6 hours on the mission "Manhattan" I am giving up and am never going back. Up until that mission everything was going 'reasonably' ok. The bugs weren't too much of a hinderance. To keep this post short I will simply list the problems i had. My mortar support disapeerd from the support menu, I never got to use it My UAV was destroyed even though I never flew it I called in a heli extraction but the heli simply hovered over a nearby town and wouldnt land even though i changed the lz location 5 times to a clearing The female i had to arrest has vanished, i can find her car but not her When i found the insurgent leader and dealt with him I got a series of 3 different radio conversations all more or less stating the same thing but slightly different (I assume they are different responses on the radio depending how I approached attacking the leader) and after the messages ended it stated that my task had not been accomplished And finally after 6 or so hours of restarting and saving every ten or so mins I managed to complete the mission. 100% all evidence all tasks complete! But when It started to load up the next mission...........THE GAME CRASHED! and now not only do I have to restart the mission completely, I have to do the 'Razor Two' mission also! I loved Operation Flashpoint so much. I clocked up hours playing that. Its one of the reasons I ended up joining the Army!!!! So it hurts me so much when i see such a good game destroyed by so many stupid bugs.

    Irish desert units

This DPM pattern is very much in use. The irish use this pattern in afghanistan currently. Regular troops do not use this pattern, in Chad it was used by the ARW in the first mission. It was also in use in western sahara.
