since 1.5 when i come in combat and the enemy lies down under fire he falls under the map i can not see him but he can se me somtimes i can see the helmet and only the helmet

He means the grass layers.

This is on purpose and is thougth as an concealment

I totally agree with the OP: the grass layer is visually totally confusing. And I hope that soon another approach will prevail that actually looks like grass and not like plain terrain.

IMHO this grass layer doesn't work well at all and I tend to be in favor of no grass-layer at all than what we have now. Fixing a problem with a broken solution (which is yet another problem) doesn't seem quite right.

I agree it looks a bit odd at range and takes a bit of getting used to but wouldn't frame rates take an unacceptably large hit if the grass was modeled out too far? Particularlay considering all of the other things A2 is keeping track of in near real time.

it was there in arma, it is now in arma2.

Rendering grass at distance is not an option performance wise

if they just added a frayed effect on that layer. A transparency mask that's vaguely shaped like grass to be projected on that layer?

It would look better I guess.
