I see a flame war coming up. Also this ain't the forum to post such a post. Anyway the most powerful card would be the GF4 Ti 4600

It's much faster than anything else.

Depends on whether you want to get the most bang for the limited buck, or if money plays absolutely no important role when buying a new card.

The fastest cards currently available to the broad market are Geforce 4 cards, with exception of the G4MX models, that are slower than Geforce 3´s.

If money is unimportant, get a Geforce 4 TI 4600, than you can be sure of having a card that runs everything smooth as silk...with performance reserves.

If you want the most bang for your buck, then a Geforce 3 TI 200 (you can overclock it to near TI500 niveau), or the Radeon 8500 from ATI whiuch comes in slightly more expensive than the G3 TI 200.

BTW, the flaming wars ATI-NVIDIA will soon come to an end, because NVIDIA bought ATI biggrin.gif, those sly buisness devils. First 3DFX now ATI.

I to face the same problem , I am going for the new MSI GF4 mx460 tv-out\vid in . its better than my curent ASUS GF2 MX400 and its in the price range as GF3's and real GF4's are around the $1000 mark here in Australia

GF3 of course. And not the Titanium series. I'm talking about the original one.

If you use (or would like to use) FSAA, nothing beats a GeForce 4. Even the GeForce4 MX cards, while nominally slower than a GeForce3, will beat the pants off a GeForce3 Ti500 when FSAA is being used.

Beyond that, ask yourself if you have any games that will take advantage of the card's capabilities. Chances are you'll be ready for a newer generation of video cards by the time something that demands a GeForce 4 or Radeon 8500 comes along.

I'd stick with a second-tier card (GF3 Ti200 or Radeon 7500) for now, unless you need FSAA.

I just got a influx of cash recently (thank you NCAA Final Four Tournament) and I'm going to get probably a GF4 ti 4400 soon, I don't see a major difference over the 4600, and anything would be ten time better than my Voodoo 5500.

There is a little difference

GeForce4 Ti 4600 Vertices per Second: 136 Million

Fill Rate:4.8 Billion AA Samples/Sec

Operations per Second:1.23 Trillion

Memory Bandwidth:10.4GB/Sec

Maximum Memory:128MB

GeForce4 Ti 4400 Vertices per Second:125 Million

Fill Rate:4.4 Billion AA Samples/Sec

Operations per Second:1.12 Trillion

Memory Bandwidth:8.8GB/Sec

Maximum Memory:128MB

I don't think it is noticable in the latest games, but just to be sure i bought the expensive Ti4600 form Asus, and i'm very happy with it tounge.gif

Yeah, I've seen the Asus one in stores here and the Ti 4400 is a couple hundred dollers less, and presonally, I can't see a difference even if I have the Ti 4600, my eyes are only worth 2 dollars at the most.
