He must be talking about the vehicle tracks.

I didn't even notice they were gone. Haha.

I remember some postings about the loss of it a few month (or should I say: patches?) ago.

There were rumours about it being withdrawn to enhance FRAPS ....

They will come back I think later on.

They are important for tactical gameplay for me.

Are you using a beta patch? They were removed in a beta patch me thinks...

Try running the game without the beta.

Yeah vehicle tracks on the ground are cool (doesn't make much sense on roads though!)

However, in Arma2 vehicles leave dust trails, which a visible for quite some time after a vehicle has been in the area -- you can use this to track them instead.

Vehicle tracks should not be visble on roads, maybe if the vehicles did burnouts it would be ok but u try driving in real life on the road and look for ur own vehicle tracks LOL

In muddy or dirt terrain tracks should be left and grass pushed down a little

This is not always true for tracked/non-wheeled vehicles.

I remember having M1 and old M60 tanks driving by here in germany on normal roads, and after that you could clearly see some slight markings of their tracks (isn't there rubber on the tracks in RL?).

Dunno if that is dirt or rubber wear?

Yeah tanks leave marks pretty much everywhere. I braught this up in the beta section.

Agree that heavy tracked vehicles leave small marks. But not the normal wheeled vehicles unless they skid etc

The marks left in photo's are too over the top

Yeah, heavy armored vehicles definitely leave marks on roads. Heck, they pretty much destroy the road if enough of them drive through it. Lighter ones are usually made so that they don't mess up roads they drive on to, for example M113 has tracks designed specifically to not damage roads.

The vehicle tracks were there but they were removed in a recent patch. I think it was due to performance but not definite.

Nah most likely by mistake. Make a CIT ticket and we will see.
