IceFire 0 Posted March 31, 2002 Ok, I was playing the interdiction mission, I must have accidentially hit some key, and everything started going in fast forward. Like I started running real fast, tanks started going fast, enemies started running fast. What is this thing? A bug? How do I get rid of it? It screwed up my game? I ended the game and got out of flashpoint. If I go back in, will it still be there? Is it a cheat? If it comes up, will it count as a cheat and I won't get any legitimate credit for the mission? madmike 0 Posted March 31, 2002 You must of hit the + key. Its there to fast forward if you have a long way to walk or travel. all you do is press the - key to return it to normal. If you press the + key 3 times then the speed will by 4 times faster.
SpaceAlex 0 Posted March 31, 2002 I suggest that u look under controls menu. That's not a bug. It's a control. U can speed up everything. You can go back to normal speed too afcourse. U just need to check your controls.

IceFire 0 Posted March 31, 2002 Hmm, will I get full credit for a mission if I do this? Or is it that they won't count my score if I do that because it is cheating?

Miles 0 Posted March 31, 2002 those are the default keys
Hobo Sniper 0 Posted March 31, 2002 the default keys are the one next to [0] and [backspace] (NOT the NUMPAD ones) And if you go really fast in some missions, the AI may crash a car or something...(and you'll DIE)
IceFire 0 Posted March 31, 2002 Ack, these fastforward buttons will ruin the game for me. Half the fun is sneaking around prone for long periods of time. Now I won't be able to resist the urge of the fast forward buttons right there on my keyboard when I am crawling a long way.
Antichrist 0 Posted April 1, 2002 This is not cheating but a very useful feature!! Do u know how long it takes to crawl wounded 200 m to the nearest Med Tent
dvrabel 0 Posted April 1, 2002 Time acceleration is useful when all your transport is destroy, you've lost your legs and you have to crawl for 5 km to your base.... David Vrabel
WKK Gimbal 0 Posted April 1, 2002 And it's good training to complete the campaign in 4x speed!
Major Fubar 0 Posted April 1, 2002 This reminds of the thread where someone wrote "I found a bug in the game, I was playing multiplyer, and when i died some bird happened to be flying past, and I went into it's body. I think it was some kind of glitch".
IceFire 0 Posted April 1, 2002 Ok, I have been thinking about this and it has been getting to me. Can anyone PLEASE tell me how to COMPLETELY KILL this feature in my OPF?? I mean to totally lose it. I can see it now. This feature will TOTALLY KILL the gameplay for me. Everytime I will go prone and crawl, I will be tempted to use this feature. I wish I never discovered it. Can anyone here help me on this?
Major Fubar 0 Posted April 1, 2002 Yes, it's called....willpower! Time acceleration is not an unfair adavantage in OFP, as the AI are accelerated too. It's quite easy to get killed in acclerated time, 'cause you have no time to react.
Hidden 0 Posted April 1, 2002 Umm.. it´s like candy. Or chocolate. Oh way.. there are more in the livingroom.. gotta go! *G* I have no willpower whatsoever. When I see something sweet, I must have it :-/ The + and - keys are dangerous, agreed. But, like mentioned, when you are wounded and can´t walk, it is a good think. Although I for some reason forget about those keys because I like it as realistic as possible. But crawling 5km? Sorry but no, I am not a fanatic Shorter distance is not a problem, though. Have you ever tried crawling on your belly, knowing that enemies are hunting you down like dogs.. Oh, there´s a bush! Can I make it, will I make it?? Puff, puff, puff, ka-pow, zzing, budda-budda-budda.. zzzing zzing sssplat! Argh not another hit!! Puff, puff.. finally secure, no-one can see you while hiding in bushes (still). Too bad you never noticed that T72 heading your direction.. Hidden
InqWiper 0 Posted April 1, 2002 The only way to completely remove it is to just scratch Ur CD in the right place, do you feel lucky punk?
IceFire 0 Posted April 2, 2002 Not to worry people, I just went into control options and erased whatever was in the faster, slower spaces. Now the spaces are clean with nothing in them and I am now safe.

Now the spaces are clean with nothing in them and I am now safe.<span id='postcolor'> The setting you are looking for are called "Time acceleration" and "Time deceleration" in English version. If you want, you can disable them if you want. Someone said using this is not a cheating - I agree with this, as it does not give you any advantage, everyone including your enemies will be moving faster. I still understand why you call it cheating and why you want to disable it, as it can make some missions really easiear and less realistic. Fortunatelly you can make your own choice if you want to use it or not. Note: in multiplayer this feature is always disabled.
Maddock 0 Posted April 2, 2002 One point that may stop you using this feature is the occasional strange behaviour in missions. In my experience during both mission design and testing, accelerated time can cause triggers not to fire, and other strange behaviour that can cause a mission's logic to fail. Â So if you want to be sure that your hard work in a mission will be rewarded, dont risk using accelerated time. Â

Hilandor 1 Posted April 2, 2002 yes i found it very handy, and only used it a couple of times but it sure saved time in travelling, also if u have trouble with a level and know u can get to a certain waypoint with no enemy fire then this is extremely handy saves u booting pc when u fail a misison yet again=]]]
Hidden 0 Posted April 2, 2002 Actually, I have been shot and killed numerious times while running across wide open fields, even though I thought it was safe.
