PuFu 4600 Posted November 5, 2009 should be possible. I never tried myself though...
soul_assassin 1750 Posted November 5, 2009 Whether it works or not I dont think the results will be worth it. Those software were not built with game-friendly mesh in mind.
Alliexx 10 Posted November 6, 2009 Hi, Well it has to work :) It does import into 3ds without any problem, didn't expect different, i mean its the same company these days so.. I just use autocad for the basic model only, NO textures or whatsoever. http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/5838/entairtower.jpg Later, Allie
DaSquade 0 Posted November 6, 2009 In my school days i used to work with autocad (but that has been awhile now). I haven't followed the programs evolution but afaik it should be possible. Afaik it has 3ds, obj and fbx export. Sadly BIS didn't include FBX import in their tools anymore (there is a way, but an expensive way :d ). Anyway, it should be possible. The only problem i see it the fact you will have to make sure the model doesn't contain any +4 vertexes faces as O2 can't read that kind of faces. So you will have to spilt your faces. Ideally you best work with obj as 3ds will not merge your points if they are open. Also afaik an 3ds model will become traingulated during export, so your import will be a bit screwed but that can be fixed.
vilas 477 Posted November 24, 2009 in OFP i had some of my AutoCad models from school , so yes, it is possible, some houses on my islands were made in 2001 in Acad learnining only important remember about smooth factors and etc. http://www.armaholic.eu/vilas/scr/LOKO.JPG http://www.armaholic.eu/vilas/scr/BERYL.JPG http://www.armaholic.eu/vilas/scr/DOMEK2.JPG but it has no big sense for gaming, ACAD uses vector graphic, not meshes
