Uziyahu--IDF 0 Posted October 5, 2009 Norton gave me a warning and blocked Backdoor.Graybird in a file called armakeygen.exe that we had on the Lost Brothers server. I searched for this, but the search feature either gave me zero matches or a blank screen. It appears to have been created around the time of the Razor expansion by someone who hated Armed Assault, as evidenced by mention of Razor and "armed_assault-hatred" in the possible path names. http://spywarefiles.prevx.com/RRFCHF35596704/ARMA%20KEYGEN.EXE.html
W0lle 1052 Posted October 5, 2009 (edited) I'm not sure if I shall laugh or cry because of such a stupidity. And this from a member for 6 years. I hope it's not only a backdoor but makes your server explode. You are not supposed to have or use a keygen at all, no matter if you have a legit copy or not. Thread closed, user suspended. Alright issue solved. Typical case of misunderstanding here. Uziyahu--IDF of course is not hosting that file and now complaining about that it is infested but another guy uploaded that file to their webserver, Uziyahu thought it's something else and tried to download it. His above post was thought as a warning to everyone, not to download said file from their webserver. My sincere apologies if my actions made anyone think the LoBo team is involved in such... activities, they are of course not but are the victim of some clown (username and email known) who uploaded that file to their server. miles teg 1 Posted October 8, 2009 Thanks Wolle. Yeah we got it straightened out. I didn't even know that file was on there until now (it was in a FTP folder I never look at). We're probably changing servers or updating security on the current one if we keep it. But we appreciate your vigilance and professionalism in this matter. JdB 151 Posted October 16, 2009 It appears to have been created around the time of the Razor expansion by someone who hated Armed Assault, as evidenced by mention of Razor and "armed_assault-hatred" in the possible path names. Actually, -"Hatred" is the name of a warez group, it has nothing to do with someone that really hates ArmA (rather only hating the bizarre principle of having to pay for something that you don't own in general :j: ) It's just their signature. Andi 10 Posted October 21, 2009 Actually it's pretty common that cracks/keygens for various games are reported by Antivirus scanners to have backdoors or trojans.
