celery 8 Posted August 17, 2009 From the closed Evolution related thread: The other day I was playing Evolution, flying a Huey and having obtained the rank of Lt, when I was demoted to Private and sentenced to 60 secs in the banana ring ring room because the other player in the chopper shot to many friendlies or unarmed. Why is this game ( or server) set up to punish those players in a vehicle, when someone else does the wrong thing. Seems abit unfair While it is a flaw in how the mission was designed when taking the game's limitations into account, I see a bigger problem here that exists in the game itself. Kills are still credited to only one person in a vehicle, usually leaving gunners without kills and making pilots responsible for any screwups. Isn't it possible to credit kills to the one who fired the weapon? A side bug related to this is that even if the gunner is the only person in the vehicle, he doesn't get credit if he exits the vehicle before the enemy dies. cole 0 Posted August 17, 2009 This needs to be fixed, every player should be responsible for his own kills, no matter what vehicle position he's in. This system feels like it's made for teamkillers and other retarded gameplay breakers.
BigWolf 0 Posted August 17, 2009 Indeed, this has actually been a problem for a long time (IIRC this was in OFP as well)

Halli~SPARTA~ 0 Posted August 17, 2009 I do not understand why that thread was closed as it is a general comment/question and not always considered a bug. If a chopper flys into a town and the gunner kills the innocent why would it not be the entire crews fault as they are a team and responsible for each other as we all know this is not BF2 it is a tactical simulator. Unlike if you jump in a Captured T-90 and get negative points.

Not the pilot. I just wanted to clear that up so a discussion can be an informed one. ;)

See for this my Thread as well which mentions this to be fixed ASAP next to a few other issues as well (teamwork inside a vehicle for example, or a easy way to ban deliberate team killers from a server which really are sometimes a serious issue to the game!) http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=84071 I do not understand why that thread was closed as it is a general comment/question and not always considered a bug.If a chopper flys into a town and the gunner kills the innocent why would it not be the entire crews fault as they are a team and responsible for each other as we all know this is not BF2 it is a tactical simulator. Cause you simply should not be responsible in any way for a single idiot in multiplayer which decides jump in your vehicle and go completely mayhem toward your team/civlians. That simple. ActionMan 10 Posted August 18, 2009 If a chopper flys into a town and the gunner kills the innocent why would it not be the entire crews fault as they are a team and responsible for each other as we all know this is not BF2 it is a tactical simulator. The current system blames ONLY the pilot for any mistakes (or deliberate griefing) of the gunners. So the current system neither blames the right person, nor does it blame the "team" of people in the vehicle. It just blames one single person who often-times has no idea why their gunner is being a tard...
dmarkwick 261 Posted August 18, 2009 Cause you simply should not be responsible in any way for a single idiot in multiplayer which decides jump in your vehicle and go completely mayhem toward your team/civlians. That simple. On the other hand a pilot should take a share in the kills also, the entire vehicle should share any kills that vehicle makes IMO :) It's a weakness, but also a strength I think. You can't legislate for idiots, they'll ruin the fun no matter what the fun is, so the scores should be issued with the assumption that there are no idiots :)
