marcodarco 10 Posted August 6, 2009 The Micro Ai has greatly been improved now that 1.03 has arrived! Units stick together a lot more now, are not to scared to advance when there isnt a huge threat. They seem to be conserving ammunition too. I also spotted them checking behind when moving and loads of other tweaks that really add to the realism. Not perfect, but we are on the right tracks! Well done B.I
kremator 1065 Posted August 6, 2009 I agree that we do need to say well done to BIS. There are still a few issues to sort out - but there will always be issues ! What we have is a step closer to perfection, and once the tools are released we will be in seventh heaven (or is that Dev Heaven now :) )
sabre4809 0 Posted August 6, 2009 Some people are saying the AI now don't react to Sniper/long range fire. Bull! At 200m They locate me after a while and engage with some advancing others firing. Any further and they are disorganized for a while but soon advance in my general direction(slow and imprecise), leapfroging and using some cover. Something to add, is if you put ai strength to 0.0 they use smoke????, and hold position in cover???? while firing rather than advance as cannon fodder. rotkeps 10 Posted August 6, 2009 (edited) I think it has been an amazing improvement, however has anyone noticed when giving AI move orders through towns whilst they're in combat / stealth stance occasionally atleast one member will become completely stuck for no reason and never be able to move from that position regardless of the order given ? It is something I rarely noticed in 1.02, but in 1.03 it seems much more common. Edited August 6, 2009 by rotkeps
Moosed 10 Posted August 6, 2009 Something to add, is if you put ai strength to 0.0 they use smoke????, and hold position in cover???? while firing rather than advance as cannon fodder. is this a suggestion or does it actually happen ? i always wondered why the ai never held positon or took cover, like people would in real life. kozzy420 21 Posted August 6, 2009 I agree! So far im very happy with the new update. Played mostly on 1.02 at my friends place, until I got the game for my own pc yesterday and the new update has been a nice improvement, especially with the AI!
marcodarco 10 Posted August 7, 2009 I really like the way how the AI sqauds move and navigate now, it seems more fluent and realistic. They are starting to act like soldiers, they crouch alot more now when on the move. Keep up the good work BI! But dont slack

marcodarco 10 Posted August 7, 2009 I just know the day when Ill get bored of setting up crazy set pieces in the editor, and never making them into a real mission with objectives. (must learn how to make missions properly)
Bulldogs 10 Posted August 7, 2009 I've started the campaign from scratch and with all the fixes and AI changes it's really like a new game altogether... love it
