Arma2 script editors

Recommended Posts

Do you have scripts editors like Christ's ofp script editor but for Arma2?

Arma Edit is nice, but its autocomplete is a little messed up. Most of the time when I try to copy a line it cuts it away instead (even though it copies it too). Which kind of sucks, since autocomplete is nice to have but at the same time copy is a rather vital function.

Hey guys, our clan is looking for one more scripter. Is anybody interested please?! Our script-team is busy, we need more hands :)

Christ's ofp script editor

So powerful it can perform miracles.

Seriously though, ArmA Edit IS the ArmA version of Chris's editor, and yes I use it.

try Notepad++ with ArmA II plugin.

This is what I'm using too - is there anyone to offer a comparison between it and Arma Edit?

It's really just personal preference. I mean if you already have Notepad++ and you're really used to then stick with that. I find that ArmA Edit suits my needs and isn't overloaded with features I don't use (honestly I really only use it for syntax highlighting).

I prefer the Notepad++ ArmA 2 plugin although I used ArmA Edit when I started off for many months before I switched.

I would recommend trying them all though, it is usually about what suits you and what you feel comfortable with!

I tried the N++ ArmA plugin but the program crashed immediately after installing the files...

My brother made an sqf syntax profile for N++ and I've been using that for now... It's just a simple keyword filter to put the appropriate commands and keywords into a proper color

Now I've downloaded ArmA Edit, but I couldn't get the autocomplete to show... whenever I type a keyword it just completes the line for me, but what I wanted was a drop down list with all possible keywords and a brief explanation (a la IntelliSense)

Cheers
