I accept the fact that lots of people want a resistance helicopter...but I fail to see why. How are they supposed to be able to afford a helicopter?

Well maybe they stole it from the Russians? They often leave helicopters almost completely unguarded like in Red Dawn

It would be unrealistic. Resistance teams all over the world depend on secrecy and move all the time. Well in a small insland like those in the game a reckon aircraft would easily spot it and lead the bad guy into them. As l have said unrealistic.

The US have given shit loads away so it wouls make sense and for aircraft maybe a dekota

I struggle to think of any resistance army that has ever had a helicopter. Helicopters are expensive to purchase, hard to steal. Hard to learn how to fly, even harder to learn how to fly well. Expensive to arm, expensive to maintain and expensive to keep fuelled. They are not ideally suited to the resistance army.

Resistance armies in the past (eg Afgans in Russian-Afgan war 1982) have stolen weapons and been given by external organisation, with appropiate technology being the key phrase. When the Americans helped the Afgans in 1982 they gave them AKs, a rugid weapon that is nice and easy to use and maintain. They also gave them Stingers and then trained them in using them (very efficiently, over one hundred soviet aircraft where shot down in the conflict). But nothing more compicated than that.

Even some armies do not have helicopters. Those who have watched Black Hawk down, note American air supperiority since the Somalian rebels did not have any aircraft.

well they got an airport and stuff so, they have a cessna, why not a chopper of some sort?(maybe a civilian huey painted over with green and FIA markings on the sides and a pk mounted on one of the side doors or something?)

Who's to say that the Cessna on the island isn't a training plane used by the American military presence on the island? The airports aren't civilian, they are owned by the US outpost.

Well, IM not sure about the resistance in ofp, are they a smaal government force?

If they are then they could have helicopters, US gave them to Rhodesia which helped form fire forces.

A dakota was given to south africa to drop troops on the border with angola alond with french Aloutte3 helicopter.

If the reistance are not government backed then they shouldnt have them

If you remember back to the campaign storyline you'll remember that the yanks have no idea about their presence until Armstrong is captured by them after the Americans are run out of Everon.

Red Hammer, however, revels that they are quiet organised, persumably secretive before the war. Operation Resistance will explain their past and the origins of their weaponry.

While it's true that many resistance forces don't have air equipment, in OFP everything is way too stealable. Give the FIA some Mi-8s, or other obsolete Soviet choppers. The Mi-8 was all over the USSR and performed a multitude of tasks. It wouldn't be surprising at all that the resistance might get some. But most importantly, get some BTRs, BRDM-1s, real commie HMGs, and closeable...hatches...on...the...BRDM-2!

IM changing the subject here but I think that the resistance should of had a larger selection of rifles, atm they all have ak47s but I think they should have Fn Fals and anything they can get their hands on.

Their uniform is too standard as well. dont bother me much but it would make a difference

If you ask me, the Resistance are a civillian group who don't like the Russians and took up arms against them. If that is so, why not give them a civil chopper painted green with FIA sprayed all over it and put an MG in the side? They could maybe have some mounted RPG's as well.

Jub Jub the sandanista's (god knows where they came from) operated hinds in the 80's But they had like a gazzilion square miles of jungle to hide in. Anyway where does a resistance group get a fully functional T-55. I dont get that.

They already have a Cessna that you can download, Intruder has a link to the sight on that spinny plane image he has as part of his signiture. But I want choppers!
