Windexglow 10 Posted July 12, 2009 Every once in a while when I take shelter in a building (and it'll take some rounds from assault rifles) it will have a lot of invisible debris - a body will be floating on nothing, and I can't get out of the main entrance as it's blocked. Did they remove damage-stages from buildings in the Arma2 Demo? http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/4918/arma2demo20090711143222.jpg Another thing I've had trouble with is sometimes this vechile will hold more than it should. http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/2620/arma2demo20090627111053.jpg Yes, I am clipping into a man on this one. http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/76/arma2demo20090627104934.jpg This one has a weird orange texture + clipping issue. Once again, the body you see where the camera is is NOT mine. http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/5033/arma2demo20090627105753.jpg Arma 2 demo

Some partially destroyed buildings have piles of invisible rubble around the outside and inside of them. They can wound you while walking on them also. Windexglow 10 Posted July 12, 2009 ....How the hell did they mess that one up? I can understand a lot of bugs about this game, but this...
akd42 10 Posted July 12, 2009 Utes control tower is a prime example. Confused the hell out of me when I first encountered it.

Windexglow 10 Posted July 12, 2009 Yes, but most games don't put 2 soldiers in the same spot in a vehicle.
manberries 0 Posted July 13, 2009 The aav can hold 32 fully equipped soldiers in its cargo plus 3 crew (there is some argument over the exact number, but I have heard stories of marines piling in to fit 32. I believe the "official" number is 25) The invisible debris bug is because the model for a destroyed building is a square.
JuggernautOfWar 1 Posted July 13, 2009 Does anybody know if they are planning on fixing this issue?
Windexglow 10 Posted July 13, 2009 That's what I'm confused of - Even automatic collision-making tools I've used in the past don't have such glaring mistakes.
manberries 0 Posted July 13, 2009 I am not sure if its a mistake. Maybe they made the debris model simplistic to save some fps. Although, i don't think it would be a major hit anyway. Maybe it was just something they dint feel was worth making. I would like to see it redone but its been this way since OFP, so i don't see it getting fixed/
no use for a name 0 Posted July 13, 2009 I was playing a co-op game where we had to take out a building that was an enemy HQ, so a couple guys put some m203's into it and one of the sides collapsed; making it almost impossible to enter. I was watching one of the sides and all of the sudden my guy started "floating" on invisible debris; not to mention the guys who went in to clear it kept getting stuck on invisible barriers. Maybe having partial-destruction for buildings with this old engine wasn't such a good idea :icon_wink:

The building had taken about 3 dozen assault-rifle bullets and nothing else - no tank rounds, no explosives, no heavy guns. Yet the front doorway was impassable without crawling through it. The collision in this game seems incredibly simple, however that may be to help the AI. Physics in this game is almost nill, especially for anything that nears a building (vehicles). Player bodies don't seem to be ragdalls, so it has a pre-set death animation so it won't wrap around collision. Like in the picture, it's back should be straight as if it were on the ground. I prefer it this way since ragdolls get themselfs in wierd positions sometimes... erm actualy... most of the time
