Let's get this thread back on track.

It's INPUT lag, the directional keys will lag for a fraction of a second as well as the mouse. For some bizarre reason, the betas and -mousesmoothing help matters slightly for some.

More importantly though:

Intel Core 2 Duo + Nvidia Graphics Card

41% of the people experiencing this problem have this configuration. This is what needs to be looked at!

Interesting for me is now, after applying some settings which can be found here (It's german - If you need a translation, poke me) I don't have mouselag anymore ingame, but in the Options Menu and stuff. Weird. -.-

Oh FYI. Am running an Intel Core2Duo with Nvidia Card (GF8800GTX)

You still have mouse lag now when you have the slider?

Must be something else. Running the game too high or something.

We should move this conversation to the beta forums and leave this thread til after 1.04 is released

I HAD really bad mouse lag until I forced off Vsync, Triple buffering and set render ahead to 0.

nVidia 7950GT 512mb

AMD 6000+ X2 @ 3.11ghz

Razer Diamondback mouse @ 1600 dpi

Now its still slower than a lot of older games, but it is playable.

Good but,

Vsync, off, automatically turns Triple buffering off, and there isnt a setting for it in NVDA CP or ATI's CCC to do that for DX(only for OGL).

Tribuff is a built in feature of the Bis engine and it works well IMO. Beta gives the option to remove mouse smoothing now in the controls menu.

Tripple buffering only serves the purpose of increasing the fps cap while using vsync, so not really any use otherwise.

I have mouse lag/input lag with extremely high resolution (at 200%) but Fraps reports 30+ FPS.

Not sure if this is what the poll is asking, but there's my answer.

Also, there is no answer in the poll for Quad Core owners.

Has this issue been resolved for you guys? With 1.04 and latest patch, GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1, I still have the exactly same lag. This thread has been silent for a while, have you just got used to the lag or what?

Set both those lines "GPU_MaxFramesAhead=x" to "0" (zero) and test. Start the game and exit - then start again. Just to be sure it "kicks in".

And im guessing its quiet becuase it solved it for most. Even me that didnt have a problem to begin with. Then it got horrible, and now its all fixed again.

I tried zero values first, but noticed that Arma2 filled the values with defaults. GPU_MaxFramesAhead became 1000 and GPU_DetectedFramesAhead was 3. By settings Max.. to 1, Detected becomes 1 also, but the lag is still about 10-15 frames. Bad bad bad :(

It's a shame if this still hasn't been fixed... I want to buy it with the steam 50% deal, but it's worthless with the lag. :(

Its fixed.

If your computer cant handle the game then YES you will have "mouse lag" - like other games. You have many ways of changing the mouse sensitivity etc now.

But any of them won't work for me :/

I have an intel core i7 4.2ghz, 6GB ddr3, ATI HD4890. My computer really shoud handle this game perfectly. I have tried different driver versions and win xp & win 7, but with no luck.

I hope I'm just missing some important thing. Am I the only one left with the lag?

I could make an assumption from the silence that no-one that had mouse lag in this thread has it anymore. Could someone help me with the steps to get rid of it on core i7 and ATI graphics cards, please :confused:

i try 0,1,2...8 Max Frames Ahead in the Nvidia controll panel but in the ArmA II.cfg is still the same listing : GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1000 and GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=3;

confusing...

Have you tried the beta patches? In one of them they introduced the posibility of specifying the rendered frames ahead value manually in the arma config file. I have specified a value of 1 and my mouse lag problems are more or less solved (there might be some lag left, but the game is definitely playable now).

EDIT: Sorry, I just read a few posts back and saw that you have already tried this solution...

I have a Core i7 + GTX 285 here's my settings:

In ArmA2.cfg:

GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1000;

GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=4;

Mouse settings ingame:

mousesettingse.jpg

With these settings my mouse handling is perfect!

MaxFramesAhead=1000 isnt a real value. The 4 detected must be from your Nvidia 3D settings CP, under your Arma2 profile?

Max pre-rendered frames in my nvidia control panel is set to 8.

Dunno how it works for ATI cards so i didn't mention it. MaxFramesAhead is set to 1000 as default.

I just posted my settings as they are and they work fine my end maybe they will for others aswell.

can Arma2 use 8?

Most nvidia settings i see are at 3? i guess you could try 3. Default for my Ati cards is 0. and if i set 4 it only goes to 3.

GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=3;

GPU_MaxFramesAhead=4;
