Rage_Frost 0 Posted March 12, 2002 Ok I hate to start this topic really... Ok here we go we have found a couple of new bugs. Warping of players and everything else now before you say it it's not are ping at the FragHaus server either I was at a 32 ms ping and Ed the owner which ping was 10ms "And running Ver1.47 Beta server" we both saw people warp around the map lol. we would have someone stand still in a circle and tell him to run and about 2 sec's latter he was 20 feet from us It was like we were watching star trek with Scotty going ape shet with the transporter. Same with jeeps ect. Now another bug was with the RPG we fired it a BMP and then saw we had 50 Cal with 500 rounds of ammo. weird it only happened 2 times but very weird. As for the Hind's crashing the server it is fixed, Good One Suma!!! And anyone else working on it. But the lag it's like the game or something is trying to quess where the player is going and if you turn hard in a jeep or run fast as any player you get the warp thing and Die for no reason. Well post any new bugs with The MP server Ver1.47 as we see them. Plus what's with the player id thing I don't see it when I'm logged in what are we suppose to look for or type I know about the #userlist but in the read me it says we should see the players ID of players when they connect right. Thanks, FragHaus Rage_Frost
suchey 0 Posted March 12, 2002 the player IDs are on the server console...so you have to be watching the console run from server side to benefit from this...its a nice feature being able to roll back the console and put ID#s to names.

kegetys 2 Posted March 12, 2002 I have seen those bugs appear in older versions of ofp too... Ie. sometimes if theres a bit of lag in the game just driving around in a vehicle never hitting anything can get the driver or some passenger injured, as if the driver had crashed on something, propably caused that in some client the crash did happen? I also have a few times seen my AK74 magically change into a M16 that shoots PK rounds for a few seconds... For this I have no idea what might cause it, but doesnt seem that major bug anyway as it seems to happen very rarely.

I will check how is crew dammage handled in MP, esp. for cars.

After you kill someone, you may see increased bandwidth requirements and increased lag, resulting in warping. The fix should be available soon.
Angry Radish 0 Posted March 12, 2002 So we should probably roll back to 1.46 for now? I was wondering if all that warping was just me

I hope it will be out really soon. If you do not want to wait, I am not sure if 1.46, crashing but not warping, or 1.47, warping but not crashing, is better for you. Angry Radish 0 Posted March 12, 2002 hehe, yeah, that was my dilemma, crash, or warp tough choice. I'll hang out at 1.47 and wait. we were still able to have fun last night even WITH some of the strange goings-on.

suma 8 Posted March 12, 2002 If no one will report any serious issues with 1.48 beta, it will be distributed as public release by the end of this week. If you will see any new problems, please report them. Thank you for helping us improving the server software.

(just a regular soldier). The warping was pretty bad as well as a HUGE increase in lag on the same Missions. Remember we run a 24/7 packed server... we know when things are fishy. It was definitely starting to smell Have upgraded to 1.48 Beta... will see how things go.

So we see no console... seems fairly useless for true dedicated servers. Would rather see something such as WHO IS SPEAKING implemented or true Logs.
Angry Radish 0 Posted March 12, 2002 I'll second that Now if we could just log the info that would normally go into that console window, THAT would be a great step in the right direction:)
KaRRiLLioN 0 Posted March 12, 2002 I was running 1.47 beta but I had a crash about reserved memory or something. Here's exactly what was in my flashpoint.rpt: ===================================================================== == C:\Games\OperationFlashpoint\OFP_SERVER.EXE ===================================================================== Exe version: Mon Mar 11 14:14:18 2002 file: __cur_mp world: eden campaign: battle: mission: ErrorMessage: Out of reserved memory (7 KB). Code change required (current limit 524288 KB). Total free 260 KB Free blocks 170, Max free size 7 KB ============================================ I'd be really interested to understand that error. My server is an AthlonXP 1900+ with 1.5Gigabytes of DDR ram running Windows 2000 Server. Do I need to allocate something manually to the new Opflash dedicated? Most often admins reported this happened while the server was sitting idle, not during the mission. Do you know something more about what was server doing when this error happened? ALDEGA 0 Posted March 13, 2002 I encountered a problem while playing on some French 1.48 ded. server. I tried one mission, no problem (btw, I was the only person on that server). Then I selected another mission, on "winter kolgujev". as soon as I pressed "ok", the game reported "session lost" (four times). Then it showed the wait for server screen and froze for a while. After exiting the game I went back to "all seeing eye" and the server was gone, implying it had crashed.

KaRRiLLioN 0 Posted March 13, 2002 It's possible that it was just idling without any players during that entire time. I've updated to 1.48 and have not had any problems since then. BTW, I've sent in the 2 crash files that you all want. I've opened up the flashpoint.rpt and see that it is a running history. Should I delete these files each time so that it will be the most current, or just let it continue to keep a history?
