felldian 10 Posted June 28, 2009 I have been playing Arma2 for about a week now and I have found it to be a great improvement from Arma, the campaign is great especially on coop and the multiplayer gamemodes are well on their way to being great. However, so far I have only found one multiplayer map that comes even close to using the first aid system, and that was the Domination Revive one, but that uses a scripted version which seems pointless. I have seen many script sections about how to link up all the commanders with the simulation and get it working, but everyone has protected their maps (Which is damn annoying) so my friend can't even jump in and tweak it slightly. Anyone know if someone is working on updating maps like Evolution or Domination to use the new first aid system?
Mindwalker 0 Posted June 28, 2009 You could start making some missions yourself? Maps are what you walk on. Missions are what you play on formerly mentioned maps!
Alex72 1 Posted June 28, 2009 Protecting their maps? You mean they are of the format PBO? just UN-PBO with CPBO and add it in your missions folder at documents&settings. Not harder than that. Ask permission if you intend to release it though - otherwise play on closed servers if not asking permission. Also note its still early. Missions will be updated with all sorts of ka-bam available in ARMA2. Just chill for a while. Good luck.
hund 0 Posted June 28, 2009 I think the medical system got a bad rep for causing lag in the really early versions (1.00 / 1.01), and when something gets a rep in this community, it has a tendency to stick long after it has been fixed. As far as I know the system works without a hitch now, so there shouldn't be anything stopping mission makers from using it.
felldian 10 Posted June 29, 2009 Yeah I am hoping for more mission makers to bring it back in, as for the un-PBO comment that is the protection I am talking about, the mission files don't exist when extracted or it will refuse to un-PBO, and it would always be for private usage, not to big on releasing missions myself. [GLT] Legislator 66 Posted June 29, 2009 I'll update my missions with the first aid module as soon as it doesn't contain bugs anymore, doesn't decrease the fps + the revive script gets compatible with it.
felldian 10 Posted June 29, 2009 Haha, just to fix what I said before, my friend was using the "Arma UnPBO Tool", the minute he used the CPBO tool it worked fine and he is able to try out editing now. Thanks for mentioning that Alex72. And that is great to hear Legislator :)

mchide 0 Posted June 29, 2009 I made three maps for Zeus wich all contain first aid modules. All maps worked correct if you sinhronize properly... No bugs!
felldian 10 Posted June 30, 2009 We managed to get first aid working perfectly on Evolution, unfortunately if you die you are now invincible thanks to the respawn script. Back to the drawing board :P My mate is also working on his own mission now so that's something to look forward to. Coop mission to clear a town or several. Avoiding civilian casualties and what not. r71 0 Posted July 15, 2009 Yeah it seems that you can have respawns and first aid on at the same time. :(
Murklor 10 Posted July 15, 2009 Yeah it seems that you can have respawns and first aid on at the same time. :( Is this still the case in the latest patch? If a player is invounerable on respawn, what happens if you forcibly kill and respawn him (basicly killing a player twice upon death). And what happens if one use the allowDamage state on him? Or perhaps setdamage to 0. Something to sort of "reset" the health of the player.
