Major Eyeswater 0 Posted June 26, 2009 I get the same problem too, C2D E6600 @2.7GHz 3GB DDR2 RAM 8800GTS 640MB Vista 64 Ive noticed is certain servers where they have the grass disabled (or because i have terrain detail very low?) my fps goes above the ~30fps limit that i find on most servers... tankkiller01 0 Posted June 26, 2009 yeah very strange . Hope they sort it with a patch or two.. Still playable though.. Just need some way to uncap it
igeighty 2 Posted June 26, 2009 It does seem to be capped at 32-33 on multiplayer. this is good fps and it is smooth. but i wonder could it be more ? great game.

I thought you generaly wouldn't notice the difference with any thing higher. 30FPS looks good to me, nice and smooth. If it never drops below that in MP I would be more than happy. The fps cap is at about 33 fps, never goes above that, so your saying that we have about ~3fps before it gets all juddery, not exactly giving people a good experiance. Around the +/-30fps mark is where the game starts to suddenly feel choppy going sub 30fps and then smooth over 30fps, which is a pain.

Im happy if your happy :), and yes as i stated 30ish is nice and smooth In an ideal world i would like it to be 60fps that way i could use vsync to stop the tearing effect whilst using my trackIR. The thread is about a capping at 30 in multiplayer games, I was just stating that I too have experienced this cap in multiplayer. Its all good though. I still thoroughly enjoy the game. And u will enjoy it for many years yet. Great game, strange graphics cap in multiplayer. regards./
Ferrox 10 Posted June 26, 2009 i just 50+ fps in certain areas in a multiplayer game so there is no 30 fps cap according to fraps here.
AvengerUK 10 Posted June 26, 2009 (edited) I have this problem too. Vsync is ON, all normal settings i get constant 60FPS in SP. MP, 30 or below - Very annoying, very un-smooth - low/high etc makes no difference :( Phenom II 920 4GB Ram 4870 1GB Vista X64 *Hopes for a patch / a fix soon!* It does create alot of stutter in MP - its just not as good as it should be :( Edited June 26, 2009 by AvengerUK
tankkiller01 0 Posted June 26, 2009 yeah seems to affect many people, Strange to say the least, maybe it is to prevent servers from lagging all together! Still playable in game.
Defunkt 431 Posted June 26, 2009 I know somebody else who reported a 60fps cap in multi-player. Many people have reported caps but not the same one, possibly it's linked to the speed/quality of your connection.
AvengerUK 10 Posted June 26, 2009 Ive done some more testing, of both SP and MP. The strange thing that ive found is that in MP, the FPS tends to start (for me) as the same as it is in SP (60 FPS or there abouts). However, wether i stand still, and do not move - or move, this after around 20 seconds or so starts to drop to around 30 FPS +/- a few fps, and stays there. Very strange :/
killaalf 0 Posted June 26, 2009 Very strange :/ Not at all, as you've previously stated you have Vsync on - now, whenever your system cannot achieve 60fps, your framerate will be halved = 30fps You could try to use triple buffering, as you are using an Ati card I highly recommend ATT (Ati Tray Tools) for this, so whenever your system is incapable of a steady 60fps your framerate will not drop down to 30 but to 45 instead. Or just turn Vsync off.

C0ntrol 0 Posted June 26, 2009 In Faces of War the Securom protection severly limited the FPS in both multi- and singleplayer gamemodes.
rowdied 44 Posted June 27, 2009 I have this problem even over a lan with 2 other computers.
tankkiller01 0 Posted June 27, 2009 i dont think this is to do with v sync at all as mine is always forced off . unless the game does it itself automaticly! Not sure ! ! !
-=seany=- 5 Posted July 1, 2009 Ok Im getting this problem in the campaign, I haven't played MP properly yet. My FPS never seems to get above 30 in the campaign. If Im in the editor and go to the biggest city i will have worse FPS than if i was in a forest, obviously. But when I look at the ground or look at the sky my fps always shoots back up. If I do this in the campaign I never get any higher FPS. Doesn't matter where I am, what's around me or what I look at. Also, why cant I change my Advanced GFX options whilst in the campaign? the button does nothing.
AnonV 10 Posted July 1, 2009 They need to fix this and stop blaming it on FRAPS (Funny, this is the ONLY game that it Doesn't give an accurate FPS reading ? Gimme a break.) It's obvious they've put a cap on it to get all clients to synch up.. But what good is synching when you can only run at 20 fps ? Sure it's not UNPLAYABLE but it's hardly PLAYABLE. no use for a name 0 Posted July 1, 2009 I was playing MP tonight and was getting 30-40FPS, and 50-60 w/p ground clutter; until we went into the city, then it dropped to ~20-30 (which is normal on my system). Everyone else was reporting decent FPS also...could it be a server setting? I've only played on the one server.
tankkiller01 0 Posted July 1, 2009 Yeah maybe, i say this because since i have posted the initial post i played on a server and the fps went up to around 45 to 50 but the majority i play on are around 30 and DONT move .. ____________________ Intel core 2 Quad Q9550 @ 3.1Ghz BFG Tech GTX 285 OC to core 674MHz. shader 1535MHz. mem 1247MHz Asus P5N-D 750i Corsair DDR2 XMS 800 EZ COOL 700W psu Maxtor HDD
