Andi 10 Posted June 24, 2009 Yeah, even the guys at BIS are just normal people. :) No, wait. Scratch that. They are mortal demi-gods :D

Mafiozo 10 Posted June 24, 2009 Great story. it's truly heart-warming to hear devs are playing on servers, doesn't surprise me much when it comes to BIS. BTW, I think you should be considered a guest of honor yourself if your nickname derives from the legendary Sgt. Steve R. Hawkins. :)

Murphe 0 Posted June 24, 2009 Thats really great, some promising stuff in there too. I asked if there could be an option to stack wounded people into a vehicle and drive them to a safe place to patch them up, just like we could do it in a mission we played in ArmA 1. Vilem's reply to that comment: "Interesting.." Vilem also stated that we could have different stages of injury like when being incapacitated you would have to i.e. be transported to a medic tent to heal up. These are two things I've been thinking about recently and would really like to see them implemented. Here's hoping.
moosenoodles 0 Posted June 24, 2009 Or there is also the possibility that the guy WAS pulling your leg and somehow circumvented your server and an ID tag as we know from pervious game with 4 digits usually means bogus player. LoL. What I would of done was to ask him to post a thankyou on the forum for his time spent, and more "your" time spent answering his questions on how you like the medic system etc. I also think its bad practice for a "dev" if that is the case, to log into a public open server with a 4 digit ID tag, it just goes to show that there is obviously some way to do this without a proper ID.. Meh, call me suspicious but I can join anyones server with any simple name relating to whatever. I smell free publicity here :D

LoL. I thought along similar lines at first, but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. After all, Vilem isn't exactly a widely known name around here like Suma, Maruk or Ohara. (No offence, Vilem ;).) I assume someone who wanted to pull a prank would have chosen one of those more recognizable names. As for the four digit ID, I believe the illegit ones in ArmA were all longer than ten digits. The lower ones were usually okay. Maybe Vilem will see this thread and clear things up. :)
