What about TroopMon addon

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I was scripting using Arma1 and now i look forward developping some missions.

Anyway, i had a tool named TroopMon wich was able to put a camera on a specific place in order to verify Trigger run well, properly launched,etc...

I tried this addon with ARMA2, but without success, i get an error that's let me think it is not compatible with Arma2.

An idea?

Thanks,

Gilles

I bet it is about ArmA2 having a version too low to use that addon. (versionnumbers dont take into account wether you're on arma1 or arma2)

Change the required version in the config and try again.

Hi,

the error is

Some input after EndOfFile.

that's mean a file is open badly and a specific area of this file is sollicitated.

Certainly due to differences between addon and folder architecture of the Arma 1 and Arma 2.

the error occur with Arma2. I have tried Arma1 in order to see if there are some regression but no, everything is ok with Arma1 and TroopMon.

I have used pboView tool in order to have a look on the config and i didn't see things strange like a hardcoded path to an Armed1 directory, so...

Charraon is you read me :)

thanks anyway

gilles

TroopMon 2 is currently being tested.

It works without config errors and is great to observe the AI improvements in Arma2.

No units anymore lying on their bellies in "cover state" doing nothing just because there is a tank rolling by 2km away ;)

It will be released probably in a few days.

Regards,

Charon

Great news! I love the ability to see what the AI is up to when no one's looking. Also great way to 'prove' whether AI is cheating in terms of enemy detection and location knowing.

While preparing the V0.7 version of the release, i am thinking if any of you has a suggestion of what variable value is important for him to be displayed, then let me know. It shows already tons of info, but maybe i have forgotten something that might be important to someone.

I have of course included the new faction variable into the details list on the right side.

Also it is possible now to add more magazines to the selected unit in case it runs out of ammo and some bugs in the weapon display area have been fixed.

The GUI is now adapting itself to Arma2 interface scale preferences by the user.

Choosing a higher resolution makes the text much better readable.

Hi Charonos, good to see you back.

TroopMon v0.8 for ArmA is still on pretty much daily use in PMC sekret codelabs, excellent piece of addon.

If you need any internal testing help before making first release, I volunteer to help you weed out last minute issues.

Here is a little demonstration of the capabilities of TroopMon2.

It starts with an empty map and the units are added while the mission is running. It can be very entertaining, it`s like playing chess against yourself hehe.

Countless new features have been added, that make this tool the ultimate parameter verification tool for mission makers:

- Full waypoint editing of the current waypoint

Very helpful when you are stuck on a waypoint late in the mission

- Waypoint 3D indicators show the waypoint route

- Repositioning of units in 3D view or map view

- Spawning of support units without having to restart the whole mission

- Kill buttons for individual units, groups, vehicle types or the entire side

to test end trigger conditions

- Nightvision for the camera for night mission

- 2 New map displays

- Map selection of units or 3D selection of units

- A projectiles camera mode that helps evaluate a unit`s firing position,

his target selection or firing skills

- Slow motion camera to take your time when monitoring the unit`s actions

in quick fire fights

@MattXR: Happy you liked TroopMon1 , you will enjoy TroopMon2 for sure.

A demonstration of the waypoint editing functionality.

The current waypoint position can be changed in 3D view or on the map.

Particularly good for misplaced waypoints in long missions to test.
