SD_BOB 10 Posted June 23, 2009 I'm posting this on behalf of one of my friends who is having the same issue, we still have not found a solution either. Just for reference, he is using a mic which is built into his webcam.
no use for a name 0 Posted June 23, 2009 (edited) It seems to be something with the Realtec AC'97 codec; which I'm guessing is also on the P5n (I have an Asus commando that has it). In WinXP I could never get it to work, I could use TS and still hear VOIP; but I couldn't xmit on voip (it was just static to other players). I got it to work since moving to Win7 since there seems to be better control over which hardware to use for emulation; but I also had to use the old-ass SoundMAX drivers from my motherboard CD since the ones released for Win7 don't want to work. I think it's a problem with the drivers/codec, and how WinXP supports them. I haven't tried on Vista since I don't own it, so I don't know if it has the same problem Edited June 23, 2009 by No Use For A Name
Strateg 10 Posted June 23, 2009 Well, my problem is that Arma2 is the only software my mic doesn't work with. So, I'm guessing that it's not my mic but Arma2's compatibility with my mic.
moosenoodles 0 Posted June 23, 2009 Id like to disable this ingame totally, No ingame engine built von is viable in my eyes. Teamspeak or Ventrillo are the only choices for me by far.. Is there a way to disable VoN on client machines in the cfg so i dont have to hear others using it with the over bloated mic gains, and scratchy talking in the toilet type ringing in my ears? I dont want my pc having to deal with such stuff while im trying to keep issues to a min as it is when playing :D
Strateg 10 Posted June 23, 2009 I've been playing Battlefield 2's Project Reality mod a lot and BF2's in-game VOIP is excellent. We do use Mumble too, but for a squad communication it's 10/
metsapeikkoo 10 Posted June 12, 2010 Sorry for the necro/gravedigging, but the ingame VON/VOIP feature is not working for me either. Soundcard: Creative X-Fi Titanium Pro Motherboard: Maximus II Formula Graphics card: HD 4890 1GB RAM: 8GB @ 800 Processor: Q9550 Windows 7 64bit. It would be nice to be able to chose what audio-input device the game would use.
Alyosha 10 Posted January 30, 2011 If you are running Windows Vista or Windows 7, then this may not be an issue. I have a Creative X-Fi Pro soundcard, and used the accompanying Controll Launcher to set up recording device. Teamspeak 3 worked, but VoIP in ArmA 2 didn't. This is easily solved in Windows 7: Right-click sound mixer and click recording devices. Set microphone as standard. VoIP now works in ArmA 2. Unlike the sound mixer in Windows XP, Creative Controll Launcher software apparently isn't syncronized in Windows 7. Regards, Alyosha.
