Spartan 969 10 Posted June 18, 2009 Hi, i just got my "Game" pre-order arrive today (UK version) and when i load any training/MP/SP mission there is no textures on objects, just block colours and grass/trees are black rectangles. Eroglik 0 Posted June 18, 2009 I noticed that the stuff like sunglasses and things in the edit profile menu has just completley one coloured texture models..is that normal? No other problems with graphics.

householddog 10 Posted June 18, 2009 MAybe changing the render values to the same value as the resolution? It will make it crawl, but might be something to try, for testing.
Spartan 969 10 Posted June 18, 2009 changing renderer to 1920x1200 has no effect, however changing resoultion to 640x480 works
Alex72 1 Posted June 18, 2009 Render same as resolution will end up in 100% fillrate. Wich means clear graphics without any FSAA. you should really try set them to the same value unless you want blurred image. You cannot change in the config and then go touch the options in-game as i think it overwrites again. Set the res and render to resvalue (what res you want to play in) and then go properties for the CFG file and set to READ ONLY. Alex
thr0tt 12 Posted June 18, 2009 Edit your ArmA2.cfg to look like: language="English"; adapter=-1; 3D_Performance=100000; Resolution_Bpp=32; Resolution_W=1920; Resolution_H=1200; refresh=60; Render_W=1920; Render_H=1200; FSAA=0; postFX=0; HDRPrecision=8; lastDeviceId=""; localVRAM=7008256; nonlocalVRAM=7008256; and make it read only b4 entering the game, then report back. If it works, looks better but runs like pig change both the W & H values (so they match) to a resolution that works for you.
moosenoodles 0 Posted June 18, 2009 FSAA=-1; << odd that its set to minus 1 (normaly its 0 as we have no FSAA in arma2) all my configs built by the rig have =0 in that setting. I had a - figure on the 3d performance other day but that was again corrupted cfg build.. :)
Spartan 969 10 Posted June 18, 2009 ok sorry bout delay; Changed cfg to: language="English"; adapter=-1; 3D_Performance=100000; Resolution_Bpp=32; Resolution_W=1920; Resolution_H=1200; refresh=60; Render_W=1920; Render_H=1200; FSAA=0; postFX=0; HDRPrecision=8; lastDeviceId=""; localVRAM=7008256; nonlocalVRAM=7008256; still got the same problem, but trees renderd better just no detail textures but correct colours. changed too language="English"; adapter=-1; 3D_Performance=100000; Resolution_Bpp=32; Resolution_W=640; Resolution_H=480; refresh=60; Render_W=640; Render_H=480; FSAA=0; postFX=0; HDRPrecision=8; lastDeviceId=""; localVRAM=7008256; nonlocalVRAM=7008256; with resolution and there is no visable errors, but anything above 640x480 has the texture problems
thr0tt 12 Posted June 18, 2009 Can you post your profile config ? This is held in ArmA 2 Other Profiles\<Nick>\<Nick>.ArmA2Profile Cut the key binds out, just post the config stuff in there.

Desert 10 Posted June 18, 2009 (edited) To temporarily fix this Problem, till BiS released a Fix, try the -winxp Parameter in your ArmA2 Shortcut. Look at this Thread, ArmA2 has the same/a similar Problem with 8GB RAM and ATI Cards like ArmA1. Edited June 18, 2009 by Desert

Thrawn123 10 Posted June 26, 2009 (edited) Hey man, I had the same issue and the recent 2nd 1.02 patch still didn't fix it. However, I found two ways of fixing it from browsing the forums here. #1 - Add -winxp to the end of the Arma 2 shortcut (that will limit the game only only seeing 4 GB of memory I think). or #2 - go back to older Nvidia drivers. I just uninstalled the 186.16 Nvidia drivers and installed an older version 178.24. That 100% fixed my issue and Arma is working with all my memory now with -winxp switch. ***EDIT 182.50 Nvidia drivers are also working correctly*** (So this really seems like an issue between this games and recent drivers? Wierd... at least it's working with no missing texture crap) Intel q9450 8 GB RAM Vista Ultimate 64 Geforce 8800 GTS 512 OC Edited June 27, 2009 by Thrawn123

-TwK-Danny 0 Posted August 1, 2009 You all have 8 GB of RAM, and the game doesnt like it as far as i remember. You need to go to a shortcut for the game, and edit the target. At the end of the target, add a space and write -winxp. Ie make it look like this: "D:\Program Files (x86)\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2.exe" -winxp (just as someone said a couple of posts above).
