Binkowski 26 Posted June 6, 2009 I've had this happen before in forests in the campaign where a few insurgents will just randomly take me down, then my team goes down trying to heal me. xmongx 0 Posted June 6, 2009 In my opinion the AI needs all the help it can get, sometimes the rate at which ai acquire your position is a bit harsh but I prefer getting shot unreasonably than running around like john rambo shooting 100's of 'baddies' with my 'boomstick'. The AI in arma2 seems to be less accurate and they seem to use suppression more, as a result firefights tend to last longer which is a good thing. Its quite rare that i am shot in arma or arma2 without knowing i made a stupid mistake a few seconds earlier. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
WarProph3t 10 Posted June 7, 2009 (edited) A big AI cheat from ArmA was their ability to "see" through fallen trees. Is that still the case with ArmA2???? Yes, with a vengeance. Getting shot through walls too. I had started out giving the ai the benefit of the doubt- but now I'm convinced that they cheat- and it's really turning me off fast to this game. You try to be carefull and tactical (after driving 4 klicks) only to be shot through a wall or thick bushes. Come on. I'm really fair about this and think the devs did a great job. But getting killed too many times by xray seeing ai has soured my opinion of this game. And don't tell me they heard me because I didn't fire a shot and/or was walking not running- besides, how can they hear over the sound of a diesel and through thick armour??? Please fix this. volkov956 0 Posted June 7, 2009 AI needs to have blocked or blurred vision through certain LOD's but still be able to say see you through a hole in a brick wall. If need be get a soldier hide one behind a hill have him attack something behind the hill to divert the AI's radar so You can have a chance to bypass they're distracted radar. We want AI that can shoot well when he can see you, but not when he can't see you. Exactly. This isn't a complaint about the ability of AI to shoot precisely - it is a complaint about the AI having superhuman advantages. Difficulty has nothing to do with AI magically seeing you in an ambush 200 m away after one of the tanks gets blasted on a mine or even see enemy's vehicles through hills and forests 1 km away. The only thing such things are doing - making AI boring. As all your ambushes and planning de facto become useless. I'm even completing the campaign without any tactical thought due to how much AI is predictable. On CTI-type missions I just send a tank/bmp in the village and I 100% know that it will kill every single infantry trooper because it will see them through everything. I've cleared 3 towns in "Desert"/"Badlands" that way out of pure boredom. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
