Cobra8472 0 Posted June 2, 2009 Just bought ArmA2 through the digital german download. I have a massive problem regarding the graphics of the game, its like its stuck in 640x480 resolution or something when trying to play in 1920x1080. I'm running two 8800GTX in SLi, Q6600, 4GB Ram- Windows 7 x64 RC1 (7100). To demonstrate. Here is a scene at 1920x1080.. this is with 50% fillrate. It looks HORRIBLE. Everything else is pretty much at high. Here is the same scene at 200% fillrate.. 5 fps.... looks good now.......... Here is the same scene at 50% fillrate, but at 1440x900 resolution. Looks just fine now.. There is something majorly borked with the 1920x1080 resolution.. atleast on my end..
easty 0 Posted June 2, 2009 I'm on a similar spec mate.. I'd aim at getting the fillrate up.. I'm running at 1920x1200 as my lcd is wide ratio and I have fill rate at 200 and other things turned down.
Jaspion 0 Posted June 2, 2009 Just set the fillrate to 100% and lower your settings/resolution.
Cobra8472 0 Posted June 2, 2009 Seriously guys, thanks for the suggestions, but.. However, to continue upon the issue at hand, can you name one fucking game that does this bullshit? It should look like it does in the last screenshot there just at 1920x1080, and it doesn't because somehow its doing it at 640x480 or something.. Complete and utter bullshit. ohara 0 Posted June 2, 2009 its simple you have set some resolution, but autotest set that your computer is not enought fast to work on good FPS with that settings, so engine undersampled resolution and rescale it to your settings. So if you dont like it, just set fill rate optimizer to 100 and change resolution or grafic parameters for better performance.
Dr.Pulp 0 Posted June 2, 2009 it won't really help. even when setting fillrate to 100%...just run 50m and everything looks like screenshot 1 again for the next 15 sec (from the time you stop running).
Cobra8472 0 Posted June 2, 2009 Newer drivers fixed the problem (ish) FPS increased, so I can set the fillrate higher.

soldier9945 12 Posted June 2, 2009 Cobra? Is your second GPU processing? (Tried with RivaTuner?) If not, try the -winxp switch as explained in the thread here to see if it activates it.
Skeptic 10 Posted June 2, 2009 Go to your My Documents\Arma 2\Arma2.cfg Set your resolution and Fillrate the same Render_W=1920 Resolution_W=1920 and Render_H=1080 Resolution_H=1080 Set PostFX=0 If you want to apply MSAA, set your Render_W=Resolution_W*1.25 and your Render_H=Resolution_H*1.25 (for 125%). Keep in mind at 200% MSAA is higher than 4x and it will bring your PC to its knees.
Fresh- 6 Posted June 3, 2009 Cobra, I have the same setup as you. When I first started the game I had the same issue as you. I've tweaked things and it's looking better. The fillrate is seems crucial. I also found that disabling the SLI it worked much smoother. I haven't tried the -XP yet because I need to go read up on it more. I've set everything to LOW. It's works OK. But my conclusion is this: The 8800 is now dated and we're probably going to have to upgrade to a GTX285 , HD4890,etc...Considering what this software can deliver, I have no problem upgrading...well except for the $450..but that's another story. Fresh- 6 Posted June 3, 2009 BTW, can you tell me what the driver file you downloaded was called?
