Sturmvogel262 0 Posted May 28, 2009 Hello, its nearly impossible for me to play the game in 1. person view. The screen is flickering all the time. But this problem does not exist while playing in 3. person view. I made a short video, so you can get headache too. Drivers are up to date. http://rapidshare.com/files/238308835/arma2_2009-05-28_22-49-42-71.rar.html

Is flickering meant to describe change in brightness of the image or change of the position?
ohara 0 Posted May 28, 2009 Do you use crossfire or sli? if yes try to turn it off.
Sturmvogel262 0 Posted May 28, 2009 no, im not using crossfire or sli i mean that strange flickering on the ground. the gras is moving up and down in a very strange way (for example). but this only happens in first person view.

Had an older driver earlier today and the same problem. Seems to be a problem with the graphic card! Dang! Hope this will be ironed out because right now the game is unplayable for me! [frl]myke 14 Posted May 28, 2009 The flickering seems to be caused by some sort of "nervous focus" on a digicam....can't describe it better.....grass goin from blurred to sharp and back all the time. Whats the postprocessing set to? Does changing it alter the problem or stays it the same through all options?
Sturmvogel262 0 Posted May 28, 2009 its always the same problem
White_Hat 0 Posted May 29, 2009 its always the same problem Yup, tried every graphics option on the minimal and maximal settings, always this fracking flickering.
Yoma 0 Posted May 29, 2009 Have you guys tried downgrading driver to 182.50 ? Arma1 also gave me trouble on 185.blabla driver.
White_Hat 0 Posted May 29, 2009 Have you guys tried downgrading driver to 182.50 ?Arma1 also gave me trouble on 185.blabla driver. Well, as i mentioned i had an older driver (17x) still on yesterday when i installed ArmA 2 and had the same problem. I think it´s a problem with the graphic card itself and not driver related. kuro 0 Posted May 29, 2009 (edited) Hallo, i have the same problem with a Quadro FX 1500M :j: Funny thing is that is only relates to first person view. Menu and third person is okay. I also noticed that the menu items in first person view (e.g. cross hair, team icons) do not have the issue. If you go to menu by pressing "ESC" the problem is gone as long as you are in the menu. Looking forward to the next patch. Keep up the good work (no PC game is without bugs) Greetings Kuro Specs Win XP SP3 Intel CPU T2600 @2.16 Ghz RAM 2.00 GB NVIDIA Quadro FX 1500M Memory 256MB (Driver ForceWare 79.48) (My Research shows the Quadro FX 1500M have the same GPU as the FX 7950) Edited May 29, 2009 by Kuro
White_Hat 0 Posted May 30, 2009 Well, i´m truly very disappointed! The patch didn´t solve the flickering problem and the game stays unplayable for me!
kuro 0 Posted May 30, 2009 Many thanks for the fast patch. (For completeness) the patch 1.01 does not solve the flickering issue on my machine, too. Looking forward to the next patch.
SilverSteel 0 Posted May 30, 2009 Have the same problem here. Only visible in first person. Not sure if it was there without patch? I first thought it was the headmovement option that your head is also moving while you stand but after deactivating the blurring and unsharpness is still there. White_Hat 0 Posted May 30, 2009 Nvidia 7950GT 512MB (OC) Driver 181.22 This seems really to be a serious problem with the 7950 GT GPU!
White_Hat 0 Posted May 30, 2009 I uploaded a video! better quality on youtube is still processing but anyhow here a vid in low quality. http://www.filmupload.de/view_video.php?viewkey=21d5312fdddfeecafb3d
hoot 0 Posted May 30, 2009 If it's NVIDIA: Maruk stated somewhere else, that you should try to downgrade the drivers, as the current ones have some problems here and there. Dunno exactly where and by what calculations, but you might give it a try?

SilverSteel 0 Posted May 30, 2009 I tried an older driver 178.24, but the problem still exists. It is noticable that the effect is mainly on the right side of the screen, on the left side is the effect less but also visible. I made a video with my cam, the camera stands still on a solid platform, I put a pen in front of the monitor that you have a reference, that not the camera is shaking but the picture. http://www.baja1000.de/video/graphicbug.avi @BIS great Game so far, but I want to play in first person........... Jukuhullui 10 Posted May 30, 2009 (edited) Hi everyone, Have the same problem here with my Geforce 7900 Go => Screen is flickering, like it is seen on the video above. Tried different drivers, no difference at all. It´s a pitty, because it runs very smooth on my system on normal settings!! I also noticed (like explained before) that this effect seems to appear more on the right side of the screen. Edited May 30, 2009 by Jukuhullui

SilverSteel 0 Posted June 1, 2009 I'm very disappointed, I thought there would be beta tester customer support  but instead they temporarily switched the official board off! Same like White_Hat, the game is uninstalled and on the shelf.
