Husko 0 Posted March 6, 2002 the ability to record missions and playback with free moving cameral, slow motion the works
Thehamster 0 Posted March 6, 2002 Yep that would really slow the game down no doubt but might have it merits for my infamous car jumps,
IceFire 0 Posted March 7, 2002 The next episode would need something new. Like the ability to plan out missions. Like instead of getting your orders as what to do. You could keep an eye on the war and decide what action to take. Like whether to send in planes, or choppers, or tanks. Like you could be in the central command. Like the general. Antichrist 0 Posted March 7, 2002 Better camero control in editor
PimpDaddy 0 Posted March 7, 2002 They need a dynamic campaign mode, like with some games where your a tiny part of the big war. Scripting is nice but it only does so much. Being redirected during a fight because the enemy just took out a recon helo and you have to save the pilots, or escort weapon trucks. things like that. if anyone has played falcon 4.0 or comanche vs. hokum you know what I'm talking about. even though they are flight sims they have dynamic campaigns

Frag Haus Capt Morgan 0 Posted March 7, 2002 Grenades that do not explode on impact. timedelayed like real grenades. Satchels and mines that can be disarmed. Sidearms and knives. That would be nice for starters. Also maybe m2s or m60s that can be mounted on trucks and humvees like in real life. or have them already mounted
LauryThorn 0 Posted March 7, 2002 And satchels that can be thrown! That grenade thing would also be cool. And I would love Claymore mines..
FallenPaladin 0 Posted March 7, 2002 I`d like better AI in urban warfare situations. Snipers that hide in houses. Enemies that hide in houses and then suddenly try to flank you. Maybe even firefights in larger house blocks like in Sarajevo. That would be cool

ralphwiggum 6 Posted March 7, 2002 but all these changes require some significant overhaul of game engine. so let's not rush BIS too much
Deus Ex 0 Posted March 7, 2002 awsome ideas, me thinks, hopefully BI Studios will read these and put a few of these in here. i personally think that player movement should handle differently, then they could fix the building glitches, hmm what am i talking about the buildigns are glitches by themselves. player handling should handle more like... Delta force land warrior and C&C renegade put together cause i hate how i move and it feels like my bodys all warped, and u cant run and shoot efficiently, thats bull. in most wars ur running and shooting, this is definatly not a CQB game, they failed on that. but in order for them to create something like that they might as well start form scratch with there OFP engine

Check out the official command refrence for a list of camera scripting commands, and have a look for camera scripting tutuorials at Operation Flashpoint Editing Center. With camera commands and a bit of creativity you can make some really cool stuff.

Killian 0 Posted March 7, 2002 Ummmm Let's see. Dynamic campaign is a great idea, i'd love to see that. The ability to rapel from helicopters. Make the aircraft more of a simulation to fly so it takes some skill. Make servers joinable mid-game. Have online campaigns, with respawning ala DOD where you will respawn after the side has received reinforcements. Trenches. Ability to play different nationalities and their respective weapons/vehicles. That'll do for now, not easy things to implement, but this is a wishlist :-)
GFX707 0 Posted March 7, 2002 I want to see a proper command structure....don't have a clue how it works in the real world, but lets say youre in charge of a squad, and the guy above you is in charge of you and also 4 other squad leaders....then the guy above is in charge of him and four other officers like him, etc etc until you get up to the guy who is in charge of the whole side. FallenPaladin 0 Posted March 7, 2002 Do you have a take-over-the-world-plan? Ralph, what about a rescue-playmate mission?
WhoCares 0 Posted March 7, 2002 A dynamic campaign mode for sure. Strategical control -> command regiments, battalions, companies, platoons, squads according to rank. Plan your missions, full scale battle ongoing in realtime so you can assist other units in their task after you finished yours, a 5GHz maschine, ... Additional player movements. My idea would be something with the mouse wheel, eg. if you take cover behind sand bags you should be able to control how deep you duck behind them. Currently it happens often that you have to stand behind them to be able to engage enemies. Peek around corners would also be fine.
InRange 1 Posted March 7, 2002 The Dynamic Campaign idea is really great, so I'd like to see that in the next ofp. Also, larger cities with a lot of close-quarters battle scenes. Artillery support which you can call in would be a nice touch as well. The Action menu works great, so I'd leave the way it is.

canukausiuka 1 Posted March 7, 2002 I'd like to see better physics (no more m1a1 tossing and falling through floors), and better damage models - I'm kind of tired of the 'flattened' look everything gets but can't go past. The poor Ural I just nailed with a HE round ought to look worse than just a little flattened. Also, a better health system would be cool - say if you get wounded, it can be incapacitating but nonlethal - this would be a lot more important if you had a dynamic campaign though. And yes, a dynamic campaign would be an awesome addition, and I think that at least for MP missions, the chain of command would be a really good idea. And if my graphics weren't so sucky already, I'd want more terrain and object detail (especially ditches and streams and stuff - things with a benefit in combat)

LordZach 0 Posted March 7, 2002 sidearms for one. youll say "what goods a sidearm gonna do ya, you ammo wasting bastard?" well, for one, sniping, dont have a spotter, guy sneaks up on you. now youll probably die anyway, but you can surprise him, and which are you going to have better luck with to take him down at close range a sniper rifle or a pistol? something like bomb craters would be nice. if i drop a 500 pound LGB on a tank i think its going to do more than scar the terrain a bit. maybe something minor as a small crater would be useful to hide in while under fire. able to change weapons on choppers. now i know u think why? well i dont know about you but when im hunting tanks sometimes id rather have 16 hellfires/tows than 8. also, gun pods, AA missiles, etc. of course you would have to make ATG missiles not lock on to air targets... lets see mounted AA guns might be kinda cool.
