AddonCTI_buildingsBmp2_hq requires version 1.09 of application

I need to know what this means and if possible step by step instructions to repair it for my son. Otherwise I am out 20 bucks and furstrated. I have contacted atari to no avail. :(

I don't have access to Steam ArmA so I can't tell which version does the game come by default when downloaded, I'm reading on some forums that it's 1.08.

The error is telling you that it needs 1.09 version of the game to run an addon.

You might have applied incorrect patches as only non-beta patch to upgrade 1.08 is the 1.08 to 1.14 which you can find here, and that should've taken you well above the 1.09 that the addon needs.

If applying that patch fails, reinstall the game again, see if it runs that way, if it does, check the version of the game installed on the main menu, and then apply correct patches.

We applied the 1.14 patch if thats what you are meaning and still the same problem. We have also reinstalled the game as well to no avail.....same error message.

We have the most recent version of the game. We do not have the 1.15 beta.

directx is up to date too. chipset is up to date....it's all up to date.

Are you launching the game trough Steam? Have you tried launching the game by running the arma.exe from "...\Steam\steamapps\common\arma armed assault\" folder?

I redid the 1.14 patch. Now there's not an error message but the game shuts down before it even loads. I don;t know what to do now. I also tried launching it from the .exe it but same problem. Shut down before it even loaded.

Hi zachsmom,

First of all, don't worry, everything will be fixed.

What are your exact PC specs?

Thanks for offering to help and ty to sniperwolf as well. If this is what you are wanting to know.....

Intel core 2cpu

6400 @ 2.13 GHz

2.00 GB of RAM

Nvidia graphics

Directx

I take care of my pc well enough and I can usually solve most problems , but this one has baffled me. Not to mention my son is driving me nuts because he cannot play his game.

I also tried applying the 1.15 beta patch as well. Didn't work.

Thanks again for your help.

Hi. If you have Windows XP, could you click 'Start' --> 'Run' then type "dxdiag" (without quotes) into the box. Then it will tell you your computers exact model of your graphics card under the 'display' tab. Could you tell us that, please? It might be that your graphics card is not compatible, or you are using 'onboard' graphics which are not powerful enough to run the game.

Hi,

Here's a short checklist people should ask themselves:

How did you patch the game?

Its not necessary to patch with all the patches, just with

1.00->1.05->1.08->1.14->1.15B

Your error

AddonCTI_buildingsBmp2_hq requires version 1.09 of application

means, that the Addon CTI Buildings HQ requieres the patch 1.09.

This means that there've been an error while patching, because it does not recognize that you've already installed Patch 1.09 or even higher.

So we know that its not your hardware.

The best way'd be to install it again, and try to play it with 1.00. If it works with 1.00, then try it with 1.05. And after that, try it with 1.08. Always try to play the game between patching, so we know after which patch it stopped working

Steam ARAM from ATARI is 1.05, just like the Disk version.

So you will need to patch 1.08, then 1.14, 1.15 is beta and makes a beta folder. You can tell if your patching works by checking the ARMA.exe, 1.1405256. You do not need Steam running to play the game, BUT you do need Steam to validate it to run it at all. So you have to run Steam once at the begining. Use the ARMA.exe, and or make a short cut from it after the Steam chk.. Your Nvida 7300le is marginal to play this game.

What actually happens when you say that it fails to load, do you get a send/dont send error message? (Arma.exe has encountered an error and must close) or does nothing at all happen?

I had a similar problem with the retail version at one point, cant remember which version it was exactly. Id start arma, the securom checkboxes would tick through then nothing.

I resolved it by updating the openAL audio drivers, arma uses these for its positional sound fx.

Heres the link:

http://connect.creativelabs.com/openal/Downloads/oalinst.zip

Worth a try.

xmongx...thats exactly the message I get. The checkboxes stop at the last 2 right before the error message box pops up.

I went to your link and installed.....shouldn't it take more than one second to update software? I unzipped and clicked ok....then within 1-2 seconds it said install complete.

I tried to run the game again...did not work.

Bah!, the openAL fixed that for me,

If it were me i would now:

Re-install/update souncarddrivers then graphics drivers then run openAL again.

Crashing on startup like that with a send/dont send message is likely to be related to either to a supporting file or a securom problem.

Also Did you try running the exe from the beta folder that gets created when installing the 1.15 patch? if its a securom problem that may get round it.

E.G. shortcut would look something like "c:\blahblahblah\arma\beta\arma.exe -mod=beta"

I have tried running it from the folder....doesn't work. I have also updated all of the drivers. I might just give up. Not sure what else to do. Glad it only cost me 20 bucks.

I am going to try uninstalling the game and redownloading it again....last ditch effort.

Very sorry to hear that your downloaded installation does not seem to work!

Is there anyone out here that has the downloaded version, and that could try installing it?

If the wiki is correct then you should do this:

-Download and install the steam ATARI version

-Download and install the US version of update 1.08

http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/ArmA:_Patch_v.1.08

I think this may be the problem as the 1.08 update comes in a US flavour and an International flavour and the Steam version should need the US version. (scroll down on the page to find the US version of 1.08)

-Download and install this version of update 1.14

http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/ArmA_Update_1.14

However i cannot test this as i don't have the Steam version.

Don't give up on it just yet, the game is well worth the efford!

Ok Yoma...the 1.08 patches had errors in them (regardless of the mirror used), and would not properly install....didn't matter anyway. The version I downloaded thru steam is the 1.08 version. I then applied the 1.14 patch per your instructions......

After all of that.....it didn't work.

I give up.

Thanks for all your help.

A last thing you could try is to check if the game installs/runs perfectly fine from the downloaded data on another pc.

Just to rule out some other configuration issues on the pc and to see if the actual setup works or not.

Sorry to hear you're giving up on it.
