BMD 1 Pack

Recommended Posts

UPDATED!!

So the day has come! For your pleasure I present a BMD 1 pack!!!

As well, our project from now on has a name: CB O915 which stands for Construction Bureau: Object 915 and you can find us at www.o915.com .

Down to business xmas_o.gif:

BMD1 PACK BETA 0.8.005

MIRRORS

MIRROR @ armed-assault.de <- v0.8.005

MIRROR @ armaholic.com <- v0.8.005

MIRROR @ ePrison.de <- v0.8.005

MIRROR @ armedassault.info <- v0.8.005

Big thnx for everyone for the mirrors!

Version beta 0.8.005 fixes the numerous crashes to desktop people have been having. If you use 0.8.005 and still crash, make sure you have the latest video drivers from your graphics card manufacturer!

Why BETA?

Well this should actually be a fully functional addon. We've tried to iron out all the bugs and and noted all the ones we couldn't fix in the README. The beta status comes from the fact that we didnt include all the features we wanted to in the end and plan to launch the final final version once we have them.

The pack contains two vehicles:

BMD1 early production

BMD1P

Some features:

- innovative cargo placement with periscope views

- vehicle animations such as raising of the nose while at speed and raising/lowering the water shields.

- variable ground clearance

- marking system

- accurate sights

- working hull MGs

- working suspension

- proper operation of the 9M135M1 launcher

- custom damage textures

- and many more...

Authors:

Soul_Assassin - texturing, modeling, animating, skinning, configging etc, etc

Ist - lots of bug and inconsistency testing, scripting

Big thanks goes out to:

[APS]Gnat - for answering many questions

Gedis - for great reference material

GodHammer - for the model and textures of 9M11

Jarek "Topas" - for great help in the texturing department

hamis - for some killer sounds

Kenji - for the sight 9M135M1

    MODUL - for wonderful animations

Q - for answering many questions

    q1184 - for ballistics calibration

Raedor  - for answering many questions

RavenDK  - for proper turret configuration

    ShadowNX - for German translation

    Uralaz - for track textures

Vilas - for answering many questions

...and my girlfriend for being patient with me and helping with the readme smile_o.gif

Didn`t test this addon so far, but your ReadMe is really nice! Also nice is, that you have keys... not all first releases are of this quality. thumbs-up.gif

great news ! i'm impatient to give it a try, fighting the lobo's mujaheedin close to the afghan village smile_o.gif

i looked at the picture in your website, and the render of the spotlight impressed me. i like that level of detail in your units. same for the bump effect on the hull.

the only "negative" comment i could say is regarding to the pics you posted, the edges are too dark (could be the ambiant occlusion you mentionned in previous posts). but that's a matter of personal taste smile_o.gif

again, great job on this pack ! and i love your website too

Gorgeous looking addon, but i have a problem. It locks up ArmA when i use it. I removed the addon and ArmA was fine without any addons running, with and without the bmd's. I was driving the vehicle as empty in the editor. Doesn't crash when ai are driving etc.

I gave the ai bmd's a waypoint, left it running for 5 mins and it was fine. But as soon as i put them empty and enter the gunner/turn out, it locks my system up and have to reboot on occasion. But it's fine when i no longer use your bmd's.

Oh and i'm running 1.14 and tried 1.15beta and both the same results. No addons used apart from ArmA itself.

ArmA crashed with following error in ArmA.RPT:

Error: bin\config.bin/CfgVehicles/sa_bmd_1p/Turrets/MainTurret/Turrets/CommanderOptics/: Turret body at5 not found while initializing the model sa_bmd_pack_1\sa_bmd_1p.p3d

I`m using v1.15

The error is a result of the configuration of the AT5 turret and I have not found a way to curcuimvent this. However this error has not led to any crashes whatsoever with any tester.

Your chashes are quite unexplainable. What island are you playing on. Are you using any modification files? Can it be your graphics card is overheating?

I tried it on RAHMADI with ECS Mod and no... my graphic card is fine wink_o.gif

*UPDATE*

I gave your addon a second chance, but ArmA chrashed again. Both times i get in gunner and cargo seats... all works fine. But when i get in as driver and drive ~10 meters, the game crashes..  huh.gif

This time i found no error in my ArmA.RPT.

Yeah mine too crashes, i played arma with FFN mod and loads of others mods for an hour and never crashed. But it crashes with your addon within minutes. I used a temp addon folder with only your bmd and default arma 1.14 & 1.15beta and it locks up when getting in an empty bmd.

Weird! I'm using latest nVidia drivers on an 8800GTX not that it's relevant because it only crashes with your bmd addon. Very nice addon i must say apart from the strange lock ups.

This is super annoying  banghead.gif majority plus all the testers who have done pretty much anything possible with the bmd's have not reported aaany problems, including me who has driven these things up and down mount everest. No lockups, noda.

I'm gonna need more info from u guys if possible. Perhaps anyone had the same deal with other addons?

Can everyone with crashes say what operating systems they use. Same for everyone without crash?

This is what in my ArmA.RPT is included (i deleted it before i tested).

don't you think these should have speed limit?  wink_o.gif

btw, after reading readme, i think i know why i send you all the blueprints/drawings/schemes, so that you could make vehicle marking scheme in readme LOL  rofl.gif

Well done!!!

Now we need planes to drop these little bmds with chutes and go pwn those lazy americans online, with REAL airborne  nener.gif

Buliwyf:

what version of windows are you running? XP or Vista? Ur system is better than mine so its not performance related. But if it emerges that XP has problems and Vista doesnt then we have a prob.

Gedis, what windows are you running?

Not sure if this is related, but it seemed a little suspect.

I run:

E6600 (usually run it OC'd, but was running stock here today).

EN8800GTX (OC'd, but usually runs fine).

ASUS P5K Deluxe

4 x 1066 Corsair Dominators

I was playing around in the editor for about 5 minutes previously, then I dropped in a BMD1, and within 5 seconds my graphics driver (182.06 WHQL) stopped responding. Maybe check the structure in O2 for issues?

Lovely tank for those 5 seconds, I might add though! Hope you keep up the hard work! biggrin_o.gif

EDIT - Vista 32, I might add.
