On the Shape of North Sahrani

Recommended Posts

Not sure where I should post this, so I chose here because it was the most suitable.

Anyway, people may have noticed this before but here goes.

Here is a map of Sahrani, flipped horizontally. Note the shape of North Sahrani.

Now here is a map of North Korea.

I found this interesting, so I thought I'd share this. Realized this when I saw a map of North Korea recently and suddenly, North Sahrani came to mind.

I wonder if this was intentional.

I suppose if I squint, turn my head 45 degrees and stand on my hands, it kind of resembles N. Korea. But then again, maybe you should have gone to Specsavers wink_o.gif

well.. if you smoothe the edges a bit and rearrange the letters and view it through a prism and reverse it a mirror during a severe thunderstorm, I will agree it shares some similarities.

Also if you squint, it looks a bit like jesus. This could be ebay worthy.

I'll give it 8/10. Good try.

Personally I still think Sahrani has been modelled using high resolution geo-satellite images of Gorbachovs birthmark

I'm not being serious, please don't be mad.

edit: noo damn you jackal... took a break and you did the exact same.. poo

To illustrate, your two images merged and badly lined up

and commented to show similarities (of sorts)

Keep in mind that an original heightmap can be modified...

Look, I'm not saying BIS took North Korea's entire heightmap and just flipped it to make North Sahrani. They obviously did a lot of work on it to make it playable and believable on such a small scale. A lot of flat terrain may have been added to the edges so that towns can be added. Korean terrain is very mountainous, and so is North Sahrani.

The thing that led me to see the resemblance is the general pistol shape (that's what you would call the shape in Chinese anyway, not sure what you would call it in English) of both islands, just pointed different ways.

This is, of course, a theory, and North Sahrani could have been based off of something entirely different, and this could just be a coincidence, or I'm just crazy.

Edit: Whoa, supershooter, totally missed your images. Thanks for illustrating what they mean and proving my point lol.

Me personally thinks that North Sarahni looks like the continent of North America and Southern Sarahni looks like Aussie land, but thats just me!

griffon, a lot of landmasses look similar. but that comparison you made is totally off. it looks nothing like north korea.
