Przemek_kondor 13 Posted July 22, 2008 ctd when try to open build menu:
L!nk07 0 Posted July 22, 2008 Przemek_kondor: The build menu works on mine without a CTD. Maybe it has something to do with your memory. I am also quite new to dialog images etc. So the problem is possibly on my side. will check it out...
mr burns 132 Posted July 22, 2008 ctd when try to open build menu ATI gfx card? The build menu works on mine without a CTD. Nvidia gfx card? ATI cards seem to have a problem with ArmA textures that are not ^2 (<- whatever that means lol). So basically instead of using a 1024x768 pic as overlay for your menu you should be using 1024x1024 (or 1024x512, or 64x256, and so on..). Dont know if thats the problem here, but worth a try
L!nk07 0 Posted July 22, 2008 Quote[/b] ]Nvidia gfx card? That is true... sigh... probable my problem.
.kju 3245 Posted July 22, 2008 Mr Burns is correct. Should not be a big deal though.
L!nk07 0 Posted July 22, 2008 So the x and y axis must be identical?? Isn't there a way to bypass this? Must I redo every dialog?
Väinämöinen 0 Posted July 22, 2008 Works fine here: no texture error CTD while opening the Build Menu. Im ATI HD 3870x2 user. Â
.kju 3245 Posted July 22, 2008 It is not about dialogs. Its about graphics / textures (jpg, paa). From a brief look at all your files i could NOT find a graphic with 1024x768 ... So my guess the error comes from another addon the guy loaded.. NV here and it works here. Some feedback from a brief look: ~ Good looking UI ~ However use complete screen for more complicated dialogs. Its a bit annoying to scroll through lists you cannot see the next entries or how much is in there. ~ You can buy from anywhere. You give the grid pos of the site. What about displaying a minimap and focus the view on it. So you could better see where it is (feature for the future) (buy menu). ~ I think topleft SITREP is mando hint. Maybe add a time stamp, that one can see when the messages was called. (it seems it works like a queue and you always see old messages not yet removed too - makes it a bit hard to read at first). ~ Also reduce the font size for the hint if possible. And add empty lines between entries to make readability better. ~ Love the quick building mode. Maybe top view in addition at some point? ~ You could use the pictures from ArmA files to display more info about the vehicle or weapon in the buy menu. Check bezerk map. L!nk07 0 Posted July 22, 2008 ok great! what do you think so far?? I know its not really fun to play yet, but is everythin at least functional?
The_Captain 0 Posted July 22, 2008 Your paa files need to be in multiples of 2 as mr. burns said, and probably compresed in DXT5 format (so they get mipmaps). If someone has a resolution lower than, say, 1024x768 and they try to display your image which has that size, they'll crash. Also, when i try to open up buymenupaa and transfermenupaa they crash my TexView2. BuildMenu and Menu are both 1024x768 and should be changed (or maybe even made as dialogs instead of images). Haven't tried it yet but I'll give it a shot soon. EDIT: This is pretty inefficient, but you can always increase the size of the image to 1024x1024 (add black bars on top and bottom) and resize the image in your dialog to these coords: x = 0; y = -.1666; w = 1; h = 1.33; This will put the 'black' parts of your image above and below the screen. When you make the PAA files, make sure they are dxt5 compression...
L!nk07 0 Posted July 22, 2008 The reason I used the 1024x768 image size for the dialogs is because it is the same size ratio that the game's window. Makes dialog creating alot faster and easier.
