Ofp with 3d glasses

Recommended Posts

I bought yesterday Elsa Revelator glasses and now I have been testing them with OFP and some other games. The immersion is absolutely stunning when everything is actually 3d. There are some minor flaws when using 3d glasses but the overall effect is great. Has anybody tried OFP with 3d glasses?

I know.... just wanted to see if it changes other things in the game like the colour..... only if it's posible to take a screenshot of what you see through the 3D glasses

Here's one stereo picture. It does not look as good as it does when playing but it gives you some idea what it looks like.

I payed 19 Euros for my glasses. They work basicly with every direct3d game. I haven't tested the glasses with openGL games but they should work too.

Hi R. Gerschwarzenge,

It might sound strange but ...could you please tell what monitor you have, my brother had problems some time ago with his monitor not supporting 3d glasses(or the technology) and I would be happy to know a monitor that do support them.

Thank you!

Be warned - I have bought some Edimensional 3D glasses - they are meant to be the best and I agree except they have no support for non NVidia gfx cards, I have an ATI radeon 8500 and still waiting for new drivers.

I can get some games to work but not OFP sad.gif

If anyone uses them with XP and OFP and ATI then please tell me how smile.gif

R. Gerschwarzenge, how long can you play before you get headache? Do you have a high quality monitor...? Because the 3D glasses I have seen cut the monitor refresh rate in half, so if you monitor can do, say, 100Hz on 1024x768 you're gonna end up with 50Hz with the glasses... And thats a sure way to some serious headache after a while of usage... I can see refresh rates below 80Hz flickering, so I would need to use at least 160Hz... well, my monitor cannot do that, maybe in 640x480 only...

Not nagging

Read a book once about a future 3d front end to an OS it was called Doorways TM. Its just that one day one of the 3d game engines that is internet capable will probably be that OS. smile.gif

I have a 19" Belinea 106020. I thought every monitor with decent refresh rate is compatible with 3d glasses.

At first I thought the flickering would be a problem. I find normally 60Hz refresh rate really annoying but 100Hz cut in half with 3d glasses is not. Go figure.

I haven't had any headaches with the glasses and the longest time I have played with them is almost two hours. But I got a slight twist in my stomach when I did some rolls with A10. smile.gif

And I use 800x600 resolution while playing and it looks much better than 1158x864 resolution without 3d glasses. There's some flashing (not flickering from the refresh rates) sometimes but it doesn't annoy when you have used to it.

If you have set too much stereo separation then it's possible to get headaches.

There are a few bugs with the depth of some objects and effects. Smoke, shadows, sky and the fuel stations don't have depth at all. They are all at the same depth as the hud display. The iron sights are also a little bit off when trying to shoot distant targets.
