76 0 Posted June 11, 2008 Why doesn't BI release official vehicles/addons. User made vehicles are great, really they are but no one will ever get to use them apart from sp missions and playing around in the editor... seriously tons of respect to the guys that make awesome addons/vehicles but I figure they are all kinda useless unless everyone dl's them and map makers put them in their maps and that combination is never going to happen, unless they where official... sad really... Ducatisto 0 Posted June 11, 2008 Apart from the fact you have duplicated this post in the Hornet thread this would have been best served in the General forum and not Addons complete. Suggest this thread gets deleted or moved. Duca
styxx42 0 Posted June 11, 2008 No Slight intended to 1976[APS] What is sounds like to me is you need friends online or a server\clan to join and game with. If you only can play SP then get out on the net and find like minded people. Well for me, I have a group of friends that game Friday nights on our own server and I make missions and play them with all these amazing addons. There are lots of quality servers\groups out there that you can get hooked up with and have a ton of fun with all these user made addons. I see and support Arma for this reason mainly. (Well it is a good game too). This community and the work they do is second to none. I say KUDOS to all you addons makers and script writers and all the other hard working ARMA peeps. Keep up the good work people my group and I LOVE your work respect the sweat and hours you spend for us. Styxx42
Daniel 0 Posted June 11, 2008 Heh, community addons keep the multiplayer scene alive. And BIS should be putting all their focus on ArmA II.
miles teg 1 Posted June 11, 2008 Yeah especially since ArmA II needs to be a hell of alot better or I doubt many addon makers /mods are going to re-do all their addons (like convering from OFP to ArmA) just for a slightly better version of ArmA with a few new vehicles. So far, from what I am hearing about ArmA II, I'm not exactly thrilled. The lack of cargo ability in ARmA II (according to BIS) for example is a major let-down. But anyways, thats for another thread. As to this post, BIS does not need to bother releasing official addons. That is what the mod/addon making community is for. DragoFire 0 Posted June 11, 2008 As to this post, BIS does not need to bother releasing official addons. Â That is what the mod/addon making community is for. Â Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD> True, but remember both ArmA and OFP both have had official released as part of Patches and expandsions like Queens Gambit, Red October, Resistance. So yes BIS do release addons, but not as much as the community. @1976[APS] you of all people should know this as you've been as long as I have in the BIS OFP community! (I'll have to tell Aussie, DarkPhantom and the OGN boys to cut back your supplies of XXXX beer) And don't let Gnat know about this topic 1976, as he'll give you crap over it! Panda-PL- 0 Posted June 11, 2008 BIS has released its own addons both for OFP and ArmA - as parts of patches. And they rework the addons all the time.
