WimpBastard 0 Posted April 27, 2008 Playing online, I'm trying to use Arma's VON feature with a friend. I was trying to coordinate a laser-guided strike. The problem was that while I was designating the target, my player would keep calling out targets "MAN AT 300 METERS". Meanwhile I'm trying to use VON to talk to my friend so I could guide him onto target. Of course I'm targeting a large group of infantry so my character doesn't shut up and just keeps talking for 5 minutes so me and my friend just couldn't hear each other at all. The other problem is if we're walking around and our characters start yelling out targets we can't see. Is there any way to turn this off? I can understand the AI team-mates under our control reporting what they see, but I don't want my own character talking over me. Also I hope the developers add in some way of adjusting VON volume levels as well. Often my friends come through quite softly because of their audio setups and I'd like to be able to boost them without boosting anything else in the game. If VON volume is adjusted by the Radio slider, it would be bad since the AI yells loud enough as it is.
MehMan 0 Posted April 27, 2008 Go to difficulty and turn off auto target or auto report target, something in the likes of that.
Viper23rd 0 Posted April 27, 2008 I don't know where to specifically turn it off, but I believe the ECS mod has it disabled, so you can't hear yourself/others reporting contacts loudly, over radio. K
HogRoot 0 Posted April 27, 2008 I have been using the voice quiet mod since it came out. Â I hated all the constant chatter from my soldier...I couldn't play ArmA without it. Voice Quiet Mod Hope this helps
Noraf 0 Posted April 27, 2008 Go to difficulty and turn off auto target or auto report target, something in the likes of that. that, unfortanley, doesn't seem to work, regarding mp play :\
the unknown 0 Posted May 2, 2008 Try putting the radio volume to 0 that will mute every radio command, Includeing yourself and the people in your squad.

Maddmatt 1 Posted May 3, 2008 Go to difficulty and turn off auto target or auto report target, something in the likes of that. that, unfortanley, doesn't seem to work, regarding mp play :\ The setting needs to be set on the server for MP. Ask the server admin to use some proper difficulty settings
cross 1 Posted May 4, 2008 1)Use the Six_Misc.pbo as addon from Six_pack1. 2)Copy Six_Misc.hpp to your dta folder in Arma. 3)Then adjust the Six_Misc.hpp file in dta to disable radio broacast.
frederf 0 Posted May 6, 2008 By default "reveal target" is bound to the right mouse button. This means every time you point your weapon at an enemy and try to zoom in, you are also telling the game that you want to discover the target (which makes him shout it out proudly.) By all means unbind this keybind!!! Others in multiplayer will thank you a dozen times over that you aren't spewing contact reports non-stop as your target enemies. I have it bound to "J" so I can reveal target in those rare occasions it's useful.
