Resistance Units

Once I get my hands back on a computer, I'll continue working on my little RPGesque mission I've got planned for these fellers... biggrin_o.gif Don't give 'em up,agamoth, keep working. Especially on them blood textures.  whistle.gif

When I finish it it will be up for beta testing over at OFPEC.com smile_o.gif Which won't be for a while though, but at some point, fear not. This addon is one that cries for a mission or a ton of missions though - so don't be afraid to try your hand at it biggrin_o.gif

For me it would be very interesting to have units like these serve as resistance in Warfare games, maybe with them placing booty traps and IEDs around the town and snipe from the rooftops. Hmm...

These units fit perfectly in it, I always was waiting for something like that!

Well, for me, agamoth, the face animations are even more important than the blood textures, because there are many dialogs in my mission...

Is there any news about regarding the mimics?

I'm currently trying myself at a campaign, with zombies and survivors wink_o.gif These units fit right in !

However, some of them have some shadow/lighting issues. Is there a chance they will get corrected ?

I don't know, maybe it is directly related with the missing face expressions, but I just noted that the movements of the lips also aren't working... icon_rolleyes.gif

Well, this is bad... The lip-synch is one of the latest things I have to do in my mission and with this now I am pretty put on ice... I hope there is a possibility to check it.

Agamoth is currently on leave from Band of brothers mod and modding altogether.

He has just had the birth of his second child so i doubt he'll get the time to do much for a little while yet.

XxEnigmAxX, is there a way you or someone else could fix the resistance fighters?

I'm just finishing my mission and would need it kinda urgently... smile_o.gif

And it is not the case that the mission is a "attack that village and pull back -> the end mission"... It is a story driven long mission (2,5 - 3 or 3,5 hours)...

Well, it's my first work but I spent countless nights and days on it since october last year. The problem is that just now (after almost finishing all and implementing the recorded sound files for the dialogs and conversations) I noticed that the lip movements don't work for the fighters... And this is not good. It's double bad as the missing facial expressions biggrin_o.gif (sorry for the bad english! )

But I don't want to run it all without the resistance fighters, really! They fit so perfectly to my mission and there is no other addon like that.

So can maybe anyone help me? confused_o.gif

I'd like to see this theme and the missions that everyone is working on come to completion, along with agamoth's models. If there is permission from agamoth and the team for me to edit them I can fix some of them up when I have time.

I really can't sayto be honest.

Resistance fighters and apocalypse mod were side projects of Agamoth.

I'll contact him and ask him to take a look at the thread.

Whoa, I wish I would have seen this topic sooner. I've been thinking of making a STALKER-like mod for a long time, though I decided to wait for Arma 2 because I didn't like all my zombies walking in the middle of the road. crazy_o.gif

Anyways, I'd love to help, but I'm not much into modding. I'm still working on my first addon, and I still have a bit of learning to do. I do have some ideas though.

here's a small update sincer I don't have time for this at the moment Solus has taken over the resistance units to try and fix some of the bugs so the next update of the mod will properbly come from him but I can't say how long that might take there's a lot of work for him to do so we'll just have to wait and see.

I'm still working on some ideas for the mod mostly objects at the moment but its going very slow right now

I hope that I'm not bothering you guys. smile_o.gif But I just want to give it up and let the dust to take possession of this thread!

I want to try to give you a little motivation for you to take heart and take some time to finish these great resistance units...

So if you want and have some time left, you can give a go to the mission I am working on which uses these fighters, maybe it inspires you guys to continue working on them, they're really awesome! You can find the mission here. The player plays as a German soldier but the resistance fighters also play a central role in this mission.

I am also making another mission which uses the resistance fighters too (this time in a very interesting main role).

Would be great to hear from you. *thumbsup*

PS: No self-marketing here (as the mission is still beta anyway smile_o.gif ) - it's just that agamoth and Solus, your mailbox is full... I hope that you hear this shout here somehow...

Yes please. Pretty please? Blood textures alone would be awesome. The huge range of soldier types and the great-looking units of this pack really shouldn't be allowed to pass by. Especially now that there's the Russian Architecture Pack v.3, which is slowly turning out to be less and less buggy...just imagine the two placed together biggrin_o.gif

Here's to hoping for future post-apoc/resistance kickassery.

I don't believe so, would be nice though. Just drop em onto a blank map in the editor and take the names from the mission.sqm.

That's all I can offer but if you do find a list please let us know.
