Big problem in dedicate server

Hi Friends!

this is Benamaina, from clan GIR (Spain) www.clangir.com, we are a clan with around 40 members active, and over the last weeks we have a very big problem.

We have a dedicate server core duo, 2gh ram, 100mb transfer, and we have frequently lost of conection with the server, the server is down and appear the tipical message "not message reciving since last secods....etc.." you know!

We are in Arma for a long time, and we were the webmaster of armedassault.es, the biggest spanish comunity for arma, we were around 1500 members registered, and we still have contact with a lot of members and many clan teams, from spain and europe and they have similar problems too over the last weeks.....and really we dont know to do! We try many posibilities, change the server config, delete missions, delete addons, reinstall the game, etc...the problem persist, and many members are really bored of this situation and thinking in other games with not problems...but we are very fancier of arma, and we like to get a solution!

Other thing is continuosly CTD, really we dont know why, but during any game, we can see many people losing conection for CTD, is not a single case, and not for any specific machine, or graphic card, we dont know why! but people are very tired about this......if you have any solution or idea about possible solution, we will be very gratefull!

Are you running 1.08 or 1.09 beta. If you run 1.09 beta and get approximately 50 players on teh server it will crash. 1.08 is not affected by the problem.

Individual players with CTD can be for many reasons, if you cannot see a pattern to the problem get them to check their RPT file for errors

is that the only error in the file?

I believe that this error message is when there is a problem accessing (reading/wrtiing) to a particular address in memory. But there is no clue as to what was being done at the time.

Bazoka, there a lot of mistake inside the file, unfortunatly Im not an expert.......but there a lot, many of them I think is addons problems in servers, you know, when a window appear telling that there a problem with an addon, you click accept and all is ok! other make reference to an error with nvidia driver or dll....many, many things.....but i dont understand a lot...!!!!

Over last time i noted that in a lot of public servers, many players lost conecction, the soldier is still running but the player is down, months ago this problem was not frequent, so I think is not only a problem of us....is general in arma servers, also many servers are down in games, you know, the message appear is "not received any message for the last xxx seconds", and the the server down.....its possible is a problem of gamespy???

I'm no expert on the errors you will see in the files either, hopefully BIS can give you some clues.

I think a gamespy problem would only affect people seeing your server or the list of servers. Once you are connected a gamespy issue should disconnect you. You could always try connecting to your server via the IP so you do not use gamespy at all.

Unfortunaley there can be many problems that cause a player to disconnect. If you are having this often I would empty your .rpt file and then play until you crash. Then check the file and see what the last few things in the file were. Then you can try the same thing (clear then play until you crash) on a different map/mission. If the last errors in the rpt file are different and do not relate to an addon it could be the server with the fault. In which case I would maybe speak to the host, or try a default server config

I have the same problem of Benamaina.

The server crash for a unknown reason and still can't solve this problem.

I am getting same issue also, server will get 10-12 ppl on it then crash,
