Would like this thread sticky. Very Handy for people just looking for good game with "vanilla" Arma

I've uninstalled the dwarden's pack, the server was crashing after few mins or hours :/

I've installed the author's original addon and it works fine now.

hewson weird ... you run any other addon ? or linux 1.12b?

because so far noone said his server crash with this ...

also what You mean author's original ? which ...

No i just download your pack and installed it. The only addon that wasn't in the pack is the vegetation fix. (which is too big as you said)

The server is running on Windows Server 2003. (ArmA beta 1.12)

I mean downloading the original content, as you said you have modified few addons that are in the pack. Maybe one on these modifications crashed my server :/

well if you could experiment (modified are these with *) to try which one is cullprint ?

also arma server log entries would be nice from moment prior crash (PM)

Heya's dudes,

I have modded the HOTFIX.pbo for a couple of servers.

Here's a link-

BACKUP YOUR HOTFIX.PBO,THIS WILL OVERWRITE IT!!

Also here a link to a modifeid weapons cfg that we use also.

BACKUP YOUR WEAPONS.PBO

This is just a cfg file.You will need to unpbo your weapons.pbo and delete your config.bin file and then put in it's place this config file.This file is not in BIN format cos it's easier to open and tweak later on.

I have been running our own OFP/ARMA server for around five years now so dont be worried,it's not gonna blow the server up or anything.  wink_o.gif

I didnt bother making a seperate addon as it relly is just for ourselves .but seeing this thread i thought i would offer to everyone.

Everybody has commented on the better playability when using this.

I personally think the dispersion could be toned down somewhat but here it is anyway.

These Modifications add's  more dispersion to most  weapons to counter the typical situation of the ak74 open-sight sniper.

Tank mainguns have been modded(with dispersion) so that human vs ai tank battles should be more satisfying.

We also run on our server's ai_detection.pbo.This increases the distance that the ai can see you from.

Give it a run for yourselves and make your own minds up.

Remember to backup your pbo's so that when next patch is released it can be applied properly.

Highly recommend tracking down AI_Detection.pbo and using it on the server.

Durgs vegetation fix is also a must.After these are installed i gaurantee it will be a whole new gaming experiance.

I have went through the weapons and toned down the dispersion a little just to keep myself a bit happier.

Also i have made the edits to this file instead of having to mess around with the weapons pbo.

Please note- Ai engages at around 3500m in shilka's And Vulcan m113 now.

Remember to back up your original hotfix.pbo!!

fixed for 1.14, also some perf optimizing and got rid of some of error messages ...

ok here is bit newer version with fixes / tweaks

WARNING: there are some changes in filenames and config file names so i suggest to

carefully check / compare with previous pack to avoid duplicate addons (old build and new build) to be running at once ...

if you still have problems PM the error log entries about issue and more details than vague don't work ...

also the vehicle smoke defense isn't perfect i'm now reworking the MP compatibility (it works now but not in the 'ideal' way) ...

same goes option to define even more vehicle types to work on

(atm it's hardcoded to tank, brdm and strykerbase class)
