Adf mod core pack v1.0 released!!

before you go and make replacement packs dont you think you need to fix the models first there is more issues in this mod than idi amin saying to ghandi you are too intense

fix the issues first then look at replacement mods

for crying out loud there is auscam cuffs on the desert models

I am not sure if the replacement files were made by any one involved with ADF. I could be wrong though.

I completely agree about the models. But they will get improved, I have faith in the ADF crew.

Thanks to all. I'm having a blast with this Mod. I look forward to future versions of the Core and subsequent additions. I'll keep testing this out.

indeed, i'm not a member of ADF mod, and i still have fun playing with their addons. i made this replacement for myself, enjoyed it, i thought i could share it with the "community".

now, if you don't like this replacement just don't download it and be cool, the ADF mod is busy to fix the bugs. or maybe you're so impatient you could give them a little help

i am helping them who do you think gave them most of the errors they are fixing ,just wish ppl would wait till things are finalised without errors before doing stuff like making replacement packs as with errors you never know if there is a more underlying issue that could cause conflicts

enough said not in the mood for a slinging match

oh yeah, you're the only one who reported bugs...

anyway, if we had to wait for bugfree addons, we'll never see anything. even BIS released stuff with bugs. that didn't stop people making addons.

you want to wait for adf's addons clear of bugs ? it's your right, then just do it. i won't stop making things because of your mood smile_o.gif

Ok after looking at the models and comparing them to others in game and in the editor and in detail i came to the following

conclusions.

Your F88, MRH90 and Tiger models all seem to have the 1 model for each lod. You need to make lods that decrease in polys. The BIS BH that you guys retextured for instance has 8 lods each one decreasing in polys which makes the gameplay a lot smoother.

Your MRH-90 has 9252 faces for each lod you have, which means even when you see it and its only a dot on your screen way in the distance your computer still has to draw 9252 faces. This is going to cause serious FPS issues when you have multiple units on screen whether it be the MRH-90s, Tigers or F88s.

I hope that this will help in improving your models and improve your models viability for gameplay.

here is an updated version, that fixes some mistakes :

- Saboteurs in the editor had the same name "SFTG"

- Rotor blur of the Tiger was visible when engine is off

- S-70A wasn't available in the editor

- rotors of the S-70A (FFAR) don't turn

- seats on the land rovers are too low

all the devealopers need to do is talk to DK and get his version of the black hawks his original doesnt have the issues that are present in the ADF pack yet his is the one in it

something must have happened in transfer who knows

As a member of the ADFMod, I'm kinda concerned that I've not actually seen this stuff before it's "release". Please actually consult with us first. As to Oni, his help has been valuable, especially over teamspeak.

no models nor textures from ADF pbos have been modified, there are no new .p3d, no new .paa in this replacement.pbo

this replacement.pbo contains only config.cpp

and talking about valuable help, ask Rico about mine, or better, just take a look a this thread, your mod's thread :

khayes didnt ask me to make the pack but I dont see what the problem is, as long as he hasn't changed any ADF mod files then he has a right to do what he wishes. Besides he helped the mod alot with the troops, so just enjoy  biggrin_o.gif

Btw, I hear that the MRH-90 rotors are wonky, I apologise, that's been fixed but must have put the wrong pbo in the core pack .rar, will put the fixed 1 in the update.

Also, anyone with better model knowledge then me could you plz contact me asap, the whole geomentry bug with the Tiger has me confused.

Just one bug report...concerning transport chopper's rotor.

They are fixed and don't turn...

Have you got any patch in order to resolve this small problem?

Does anyone know how to add a laser designator onto a rifle like the GLA on the M16?

I dont mean model wise, its already on it, i mean the actual weapon ability so a F-88 can laser designate in ArmA

I'm not sure why you want to implement this, it's not a capability that exists. the Transformers movie is not representative of real life.

Who cares. ArmA isn't either and it also has many things that do not exist. I'd use it if someone did it and made it public. Alas, I am just one other person.

That shows your knowledge of modern weaponry. Its common for a soldier to designate a target for airstrike using the laser on their rifle, thats what its there for.

Either way I'm not asking if you think they do it I'm asking how do I put it in arma, does anyone know confused_o.gif

The lasers mounted on rifles, aka the NAD are IR filtered lasers designed to project a visible aiming point for Ninox out for a few hundred m. It has fuck all in common with the laser systems used for target designation for guided munitions apart from the fact that its a laser....go back to your transformers mate.

The power of the rifle mounted lasers is nothing like strong enough for the reflected energy from the lasers scintillation to be detected by the weapons guidance head. Not only is it not strong enough it's not coherent enough or correctly coded for the guidance of munitions.

Further to that no one is capable of holding a rifle steady enough to properly paint a target, maybe a tripod mounted machine gun, but thats hardly a rifle now is it.

And further to that further point, no soldier worth their weight in salt is going to be standing within the blast radius of the incoming ordnance to effectively designate it with a rifle unless they're going for a VC. With shrapnel radius' of 300ft plus and frag of 1000ft plus, its not the sort of munitions you guide in with a rifle mounted laser. As for it being common....mate you must be a dreamer.

Designation of guided munitions happens from many kilometers away where possible, not a hundred meters or less, with tripod mounted, very powerful and specialised laser ranging and guidance equipment. Laser designation from rifles is possible, not laser designation of guided munitions.

If you want to introduce a working NAD into ArmA for designation of targets at night and I've read you posts wrong (somehow) then my apologies, but making that same unit capable of designating for the GBU is stupid.

hey i downloaded this mod and played the game with it and i loved every single minute of the game this mod kicks ass!!!!!! but there are some problems that i don't know how fix and possible bugs:

the ARH Tiger helicopter has some problem with entering it i cant enter the helicopter from the front like you normally would i keep having to enter from the back where the tail is but to a 20 degree angle from the tail.

i tried a mission where you had to fly this to escort 2 passenger helicopters and we get to the first way point and we just sit there doing nothing.

then for the S-70 Blackhawk replacement the helicopter blades don't spin they just sit there and i can see the effects of when the blades would spin but they just sit there as well.

then for the MRH-90 the blades spin off center but that that all for that one.

then when i choose an Aug with a grenade launcher i get a error: Cannot Load Texture aif_f88\aif_f88.paa.

then lastly every time i enter the game it puts up a error Material file aif_f88algla\f88gla_metal.rvmat. how go i fix this???

oh and the Australian flags are on back to front and to add some more gaming fun could you fix the American flag poles that appear in some levels that would be cool.

but all up this is a kick as mod and if you guys make another one id download it as soon as i can get it but yeah 10/10
