Journeyman 0 Posted November 9, 2007 I'm using Forceware 163.16, 64 bit drivers with me having Windows XP 64 and all that I can't advise you on WinXP 64bit drivers. Simple things though like when was the last time you defragged your HD?
Kirby 2 Posted November 9, 2007 See... Already you're having to talk about drivers, videocards, faulty this that or the other. With a console, when was the last time you had to fiddle with drivers and crap? The most you do it download a console update off XBL.

The most you do it download a console update off XBL. A few hours after I got my Xbox something overheated and it died. I had to trade it for another one. Does that count? Journeyman 0 Posted November 10, 2007 Simple things though like when was the last time you defragged your HD? I have an app installed which constantly defrags my HD when needed. Faulty RAM? I had that prob sorted a few years ago after getting allsorts of freezes and hangups! Maybe your PC can't stand the Singapore heat! You need big fans over there! Â Keep it on the floor with the side off and always have your AC going if you take it for a spin! Â
Placebo 29 Posted November 11, 2007 It's completely stable all other times, heat is fine, I have the side off with a big fan blowing into it
Journeyman 0 Posted November 11, 2007 I don't know about the COD4 demo (I've heard enough not to be interested! ), but it sounds like the Crysis demo is having some issues with 64bit drivers and Nvidia cards... Quote[/b] ]For those having 64bit executable issues with Nvidia cards. One known cause of the hang/lock up, is when using the 169.01 drivers, the nvapps.xml file contains a new configuration profile for Crysis. Make sure you do not have a duplicate profile. This can be viewed/changed with Nvcontrol panel or Nhancer. Once you have sorted the crashing, you can play it with the 169 drivers, however only Ntune and Expertool programs will allow you to overclock. Rivatuner does not support it at all, it will not register core/memory values. It is suggested to not bother with 169.01, as 163.69 works well. You can also use the new DX9c November package, but it is not required. From here. Hopefully though all will be sorted by the release! Â
martinovic 0 Posted November 11, 2007 It's completely stable all other times, heat is fine, I have the side off with a big fan blowing into it Windows XP64 is notorious for sucking with games, most people who play games went back to 32 bit, since the drivers are better. Placebo 29 Posted November 12, 2007 See? That's why gaming on my 360 laid in bed is so much simpler
Average Joe 0 Posted November 12, 2007 Gaming whilst relaxed [especially COD4] I find hard to believe, no matter how much I try to stay in a relaxed comfortable position, I always find myself drawn closer to the screen and eventually lent over yelling obsenaties....but then again, maybe thats just me
USSRsniper 0 Posted November 13, 2007 I prefer PC, mod friendly games, and can do other non game related things. When i played on 360 few times, i only liked it to play FIFA Â Â Much better then trying to play FIFA on PC keyboard. Â Or play Fight Night Round 3 and kick your friends butt, i think consoles are better suitd for sport games :P
shadow 6 Posted November 14, 2007 See? That's why gaming on my 360 laid in bed is so much simpler As long as you're running WinXP 64-bit I agree. It has always had alot more issues with games than it's 32-bit counterpart. Especially the drivers
