spike21 0 Posted August 8, 2007 BIS have released a hotfix patch for Armed Assault 1.8, Please note the following before installing: It's not fully tested supported official version but last release candidate only! There's also no rollback option and to return back to 1.08 you need to reinstall the application and patches. The hotfix address's the following issues: * FIX (COPYPROTECTION): Securom issue preventing game to launch on some computers * FIX (ANIMATIONS): some problems with ladders introduced in 1.08 (stuck on ladders, problem when going from kneel or prone on a ladder), installs animationHotFix.pbo and its signature * FIX (LOCALIZATION): mission M13 is localized to all languages * FIX (RUSSIAN): several missing translations in russian version, UI.pbo is modified to prevent an error message displayed in Russian version of the game when entering Single mission directory, http://www.armed-assault-zone.com/news.php Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

HELP What version of Windows are you running and are you sure your user account has administrator rights? That error message looks like Windows is stopping you from installing the patch. Warm 0 Posted August 9, 2007 Vista 32bit, I am running an admin account with full rights... I managed to find a fixed .exe (as the official fixes werent working), but now ArmA crashes to desktop randomly. Raz0rx 0 Posted August 9, 2007 Funny how so many people have problems with getting ArmA to work. I didn't have problems with 1.00, 1.01, 1.02 Czech. And no problems with 1.05, 1.08 UK/Australia. I installed 1.05 no problem then 1.08 no problem but when I tried to install 1.08 hotfix I got "You have no access rights to install the application" Has anyone heard of a solution? You need to be logged in as administrator and you need to run the hotfix exe with sufficient priviledges. If you are using UAC, you man need to disable it temporarily for this. Cuzer 0 Posted August 28, 2007 I wish the bloody hotfix would fix the Nvidia and 4gig Vista issue. The black loading screen on the menu, I spent over £2000 on a state of the art PC, one of the main reasons was to play Arm A, such was my love of Op Flash and my old machine just couldn't run Arm A due to the spec. Konig 0 Posted August 29, 2007 What a strange quirk in computer gaming history that for the first time in my memory, having a higher spec'd machine actually works against you when trying to play current games. For most of my gaming life I have been two to three years behind the pack and now when I can afford the latest hardware it doesn't guarantee playability. At least this community is very supportive of people's problems and as posts from developers show they to are doing their best to fix issues between game, OS and hardware.
