MP servers were working fine up until about 20 mins ago when they crashed again. Gamespy problem again I presume!

Hey I've noticed a weird thing whilst playing Evo 3.0 If I jump on a chopper as a passenger and watch in 3rd person view quite regularly the chopper will nose dive into the ground or flip over and then just before impact it miraculously rights itself and keeps on flying or lands ok! Is this some trick of the server, optical illusion or am i drinking too much port whilst playing?

I've only been playing ArmA for several weeks and I was initially excited about the MP experience this game offers. Like all games though no matter how good they are it really depends on your fellow players to make them enjoyable. To date I have experienced a mix bag of really helpful players, jerks and yes I too have seen the base destroying hack in evolution probably 6 out of the 30 times I've played! One of the things that bugs me about evo is that you can spend a lot of time just waiiting around to get a lift to the action. I guess a lot of the guys who play this regular can get bored transporting people to and fro and would rather go on a bombing run but i see this as a weakness in the system. Let someone else have a go at being a pilot. We dont all have hours and hours to play this game each night and climb up the ranks to get these privileges! You can spend an hour just trying to get up the ladder only to have the admin or whomever runs the map say lets start over and we all go back to the start - ok for them cause they have been on for hours already but if you only have one or two hours at a time you are building for nothing and the whole thing is a little dissapointing. Still I think its a great game with huge potential.

To recruit A.I., access your squad action menu by pressing "0,0" and then select "Recruit Soldier". A recruitment screen will appear where you can choose the class of A.I. soldier you want to add to your squad. The new A.I. will then parachute down close to your current location. Thanks for info on ranks but I was wondering how do you recruit AI units when you achieve the sufficient rank?

What a strange quirk in computer gaming history that for the first time in my memory, having a higher spec'd machine actually works against you when trying to play current games. For most of my gaming life I have been two to three years behind the pack and now when I can afford the latest hardware it doesn't guarantee playability. At least this community is very supportive of people's problems and as posts from developers show they to are doing their best to fix issues between game, OS and hardware.

I also have this problem running on Vista 32 bit. I installed 1.05 no problem then 1.08 no problem but when I tried to install 1.08 hotfix I got "You have no access rights to install the application" Has anyone heard of a solution?
