CWR - Progress

Hey Guys, I'm just creating a general progress thread for status updates or anything related to our progress. I played around a lot with CWR this weekend. I was trying to update the missions to reflect our latest source. I noticed a lot has been added since Hudson and I checked in our mission updates. I was running through and adding the T80 back in the missions as other addons that now exist. I went to test the updates and noticed non of the missions show in the multi player selection menu. I also notice the islands generated by the pbopacker are significantly different from the demo islands. I guess not all updates are in source control yet? Also, the pbopacker versions, ex: eden, crash when I try to load them in the mission editor. I hope I'm not missing anything here. Please let me know if you see anything similar. Maybe it's just a few options I need to tweak for pbopacker to get those islands loading again. Any input would be greatly appreciated smile_o.gif

I guess crashes can now be reported in the cwr.bugs in newsgroups. smile_o.gif

Might not fit in here, but I just downloaded the latest CWR stuff after I was gone from the scene for quite a while and I must say you guys did a damn good job so far.

Both Malden and Everon are looking really great, except a few bushes which seem to be directly imported from OFP:E and are probably just placeholders.

Got a few error messages I haven't saved though but no more CTDs like I had with the earlier versions.

Haven't checked everything yet but I like it much very. notworthy.gif

I've been so busy editing units I haven't even looked at the islands or missions.

What's the progress on

weapons?

vehicles?

aircraft?

I know what's left to do with the units, but have no clue about anything else since I stopped using skype so much since it was a major distraction for me.

There is a ch47 model that needs textured.

West units seemed to be done

Guer units I'm pretty sure ebud is doing them

The islands are coming along well. The next build will have all of the vegetation replaced.

I need to compile a list of what was in the demo so we can aim to get those items completed.

I maybe could do this if you haven't started yet, somewhere I still have the SP/MP Demo stored. At least I can contribute something then too.

There are 4 missions, 2 in the SP and 2 in the MP Demo. The ones in the SP demo (Convoy and Skirmish) are already converted for CWR. The 2 MP missions (CTF and C&H) are not yet. I can convert them with 1 or 2 days I think.

With list of characters I think you mean the ones defined via the setidentity command, there are just a few defined in the Convoy Mission:

Also the GUI could still use a few minor changes such as

- Loading screens

- OFP GUI sounds

- OFP Markers

And don't know about GPS thingy, did they had them in 85? :P

Oh a lets not forget about perhaps "OFPish" civilian models, its not like their are on a holiday there, all flashy yellow bananas t-shirt and stuff should go IMO and be replaced with old non-flashy clothes. :P.

Only way to do those civs would be to get good raw models which we aren't getting so it seems.

I already asked through Raedor and Hoz is my memory hasn't failed me. I know I asked through one of them if not both.

Edit: I/we NEED quite a few more of those raw models.

And I spammed again as well. I looked at synide's mlods and the arma civs are completely different from the soldier models and way better for making the old ofp civs. I can only hack up the soldier model so much.

This is an OFP command so there was already GPS.

UI sounds are added now... only for you Bergy whistle.gif

I will look for the OFP markers now and the loading screens...maybe a task for Parvus?

The GPS was in OFP, but not in the Demo.

Unrealistic though because GPS reached full operation status in 1995, while OFP is set in 1985.

2-8_T_CityConflict from the MP Demo converted and fixed to work with the latest CWR release.

I share it here as I got to get familiar with that file repository thing again:

City Conflict

Someone test it on a server please if possible, 2nd Demo Mission follows either tonight or tomorrow.

Glad you like them.

Took me a while to make each of them, when I had to correct the positions of the eyes and that stuff... The result surely is good.

Edit: Below is the download link for the CTF mission from the MP demo. Should work but if one could test it on a server before the release it would be cool.
